Itinerary
- Day 1
Jerusalem
Start early from your hotel and head to the Mount of Olives for panoramic views across Jerusalem's old and new city. From there, you'll descend to the Temple Mount Esplanade and spend time in the Garden of Gethsemane. Walk through the bazaar into the Armenian Quarter and Christian Quarter, following the Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) down to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. After that, check out the Byzantine Cardo and the renovated Jewish Quarter before climbing up to Mt. Zion. If you're visiting on a Saturday, you can see the Hall of Last Supper and David's tomb. Later in the day, take a car tour through the new city and visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum (note that it's closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and High Holidays, so plan accordingly). Budget most of your day for this itinerary since there's quite a bit of ground to cover.
