- Day 1
Bucharest
You'll arrive in Bucharest and have the day to yourself exploring the city at your own pace. Walk through trendy shops and cafés, check out the museums, and take in the architecture along Victory Avenue with its various churches. The whole day is yours to wander around this historic city.

Bucharest to Oltenita
A guided tour takes you through Bucharest's tree-lined boulevards, past the Arc de Triomphe honoring WWI soldiers, and to Royal Palace Square where the 1989 riots happened. Later you'll travel to Oltenita and board your Avalon Suite Ship. Spend the evening exploring the ship, having dinner on board, and attending a lecture about the Danube Delta.

Constanta
You'll join a guided tour to Constanta on the Black Sea, Romania's major commercial port. The Natural History and Archeological Museum shows you early Romanian cultures. By afternoon, you're at a local winery learning about traditional Romanian wines and tasting some. Then it's overnight cruising to Rousse.

Veliko Tarnovo - Svistov
In Rousse you have options. Take a park walk with your Adventure Host, join a guided tour of Bulgaria's largest inland port and Holy Trinity Church, or go on a full-day guided tour to Veliko Tarnovo, the ancient capital. You'll see stone houses hanging over the Yantra River and check out 15th-century Bulgarian Revival architecture in Arbanassi. Rejoin the ship in Svistov for overnight cruising to Vidin.

By evening you're back on board for a Bulgarian folklore show, then overnight cruise to Donji Milanovac.

Lepenski Vir - Golubac
You'll sail through the Iron Gate Gorge, a narrow natural border between Serbia and Romania. Take a walk with your Adventure Host or join a guided tour to Lepenski Vir, a Mesolithic site with ancient discoveries. After that, visit Golubac Fortress, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval fortresses. Overnight cruise takes you to Belgrade.

You'll see Saint Sava, one of the world's largest Orthodox churches. Optional guided biking or free time on Knez Mihailova Street with its cafés and shops. That evening an onboard lecture covers Balkan history and culture before heading to Novi Sad.

Another option is visiting the Museum of Beekeeping and Zivjanovic Wine Cellar in nearby Sremski Karlovci to experience Serbian tradition. Live entertainment happens on board before you dock in Ilok.

Pick a morning activity in Mohacs, a quiet Danube harbor town. Either take a guided sightseeing tour with its historical memorial parks and distinctive churches, plus the medieval St. Nicholas Watermill still doing stone-ground grain processing, or go on a guided tour to nearby Pecs to see 4th-century Christian underground tombs (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with fascinating murals and an organ concert. Afternoon cruise to Budapest with overnight docking.
