Chennai

By late afternoon, take a heritage drive that passes by the Madras High Court buildings and other notable architectural sites around the city.

- Day 2
Chennai to Pondicherry
After breakfast, you'll drive toward Pondicherry with a stop at Mahabalipuram to see the rock-cut temples and stone carvings that are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there, continue to Pondicherry and walk through the French Quarter to see the blend of French and Tamil architecture. Later, visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram before settling in.

Pondicherry to Thanjavur
Starting after breakfast, you'll drive to Thanjavur with stops along the way. First, check out the Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, then visit the Great Living Chola Temples at both Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Darasuram. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites show off Dravidian architecture from centuries past. You'll arrive in Thanjavur by evening.

Thanjavur to Trichy
After breakfast, explore Thanjavur's heritage by visiting the Brihadeshwara Temple, the Vijayanagar Fort, and the Thanjavur Art Gallery with its ancient manuscripts and artworks. Each of these sites is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then you'll drive to Trichy and visit the Rockfort Temple, which sits on top of a rock and gives you views out over the whole city.

Trichy to Madurai
Following breakfast, drive to Madurai, a city that's been continuously inhabited for thousands of years. After checking in, head to the Meenakshi Amman Temple to see its architecture and detailed carvings. Spend time in the vibrant market atmosphere, and try to catch the evening prayer ceremony at this important spiritual center.

- Day 6
Madurai to Munnar

Munnar

After you check in at your hotel, you'll have free time to either walk around the charming town or simply relax in the cool climate with all the greenery around.

Ooty

Hassan to Bangalore
