Our 4-day kayak trip by Do the North in Sweden was magnificent. It was very well organised, the communication was fast, all the necessary equipment was provided and of good quality. We had great weather, no accidents, and the surroundings were so beautiful. So it was perfect. We were prety tired by the end though. Some physical fitness is recommendable.

  Is it recommended to have the tick-borne encephalitis vaccine before going on this trip?

  There are ticks out there if you walk through high grasses (which is pretty easy to avoid since the landscape is mostly rocks) and you can get Lyme desease if you leave a tick latched on for a long time and don't get treatment. We did have one case about 15 years ago. We teach procedures for checking yourself and removing a tick quickly before anything has a chance to transmit. TBE is very rare, but I will never discourage you from getting a vaccine if you want to be super safe.

  We don't have any 4-day ones. We just think the area is so much better enjoyed with that extra day, it gives you a lot more flexibility out there. We have a tour starting Sep 18th.

Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before September 29th, 2025 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 29th, 2025, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Do the North. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Do the North will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Do the North" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
