Innsbruck
You'll arrive in Innsbruck, a city that's hosted the Winter Olympics three times. While it's known for winter sports, the Alpine setting here offers plenty to see during warmer months with colorful streets and a real mix of cultural attractions to explore.

Innsbruck to Imst
Starting your cycling journey, you'll head along the Inn Cycle Path from Innsbruck toward Stams, where there's a famous Cistercian monastery worth a quick stop. After that, you'll continue to Haiming, passing through pine forest and checking out the renovated Roman baths near Roppen. The route finishes in Imst, a fountain town about 60 km from where you started.

Imst to Mals
From Imst, you'll cycle to Landeck before catching an organized shuttle to Nauders. After crossing into Italy at Reschen Pass, the cycling turns downhill with views of the Reschen reservoir and the sunken church tower of Altgraun. You'll arrive in Mals by evening and have time to wander the old alleyways of this South Tyrolean village.

Mals to Merano
Today's a big descent across the Vinschgau Valley, dropping from about 1,200 m in Burgeis down to 350 m in Meran. You'll pass through Glurns (the Alps' smallest town), Laas with its marble quarries, Naturns, and by Kastelbell Castle before reaching the spa town of Merano. By evening, walk along the Passer promenade where subtropical plants line the path.

Merano to Bolzano
This cycling day takes you through valleys with viewpoints of several castles and ruins, including the Schnatterpeck altar in Niederlana church and South Tyrol's highest church tower in Terlan. Stop for local food like Terlan asparagus, Nals chestnuts, and regional wines. You'll arrive in Bolzano and check out the pedestrian zone with its southern feel.
