- Day 1
Tokyo
You'll arrive in Tokyo and head to your hotel to settle in. At 6:30pm, meet your tour leader and the rest of your group for an informal welcome meeting in the lobby. This is your chance to get acquainted before diving into exploring Japan's capital over the coming days.

Tokyo
After breakfast, you'll start with Hama Rikyu Garden, where traditional landscaping and water features give you a sense of old Tokyo. From there, walk through Meiji Jingu Shrine, nestled in a forested area and one of the city's most important spiritual sites. Later, you'll wander through Shibuya and Harajuku to see the energy and style that define modern Tokyo. Your afternoon is free, so grab lunch and check out museums or parks depending on what interests you most.

Tokyo to Hakone
You have the morning to yourself in Tokyo before boarding a two-hour train to Hakone around midday. Once you arrive in this mountain town, your guide takes you on a walking tour to get oriented. You'll then ride a scenic boat on Lake Ashinoko, with views of Mount Fuji if the weather cooperates. Stop at Hakone Shrine and the Tokaido Checkpoint to learn about the area's history. To finish the day, a 30-minute gondola ride on the Owakudani Cable Car carries you above volcanic valleys with more Mount Fuji views.

Hakone to Takayama
You're traveling about 5 hours today to Takayama, combining mountain train and Shinkansen bullet train. It's a bit of a journey, but once you arrive in this charming mountain town, your guide takes you through the Hida Folk Village. You'll see beautifully preserved thatched-roof homes from the Edo Period and learn how people actually lived and worked here centuries ago. It's a solid introduction to traditional Japanese rural culture.

Takayama
After breakfast, you'll join a walking tour of Takayama's traditional morning market, which has been running for over 600 years. You can browse local crafts, flowers, and fresh produce from vendors. Next, visit the Merchant House and Takayama Jinya Building to see how local merchants and officials lived. The afternoon is yours to explore the town's quaint streets at your own pace, and if you're interested, try some of Takayama's well-known local sake.

Takayama to Hiroshima
You'll spend about 5 hours traveling by express train and Shinkansen bullet train to reach Hiroshima. Once there, you'll head to Peace Memorial Park and the Peace Museum to understand the city's history and the 1945 atomic bomb attack. The A-Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a powerful reminder of that day. You'll have free time in the evening to process what you've learned and explore the city on your own.

Hiroshima to Miyajima Island
You'll take a day trip to Miyajima Island, about an hour from Hiroshima by ferry. The famous floating Torii Gate at Itsukushima-jinja Shrine is the main attraction here, and it really does live up to the hype. From there, ride the cable car up Mt Misen to take in 360-degree views of the inland sea and surrounding islands. After exploring, you'll return to Hiroshima with the evening free to grab dinner and relax.

You'll have a final breakfast with your group before hotel checkout at 10:00am. There's time to walk through Hiroshima's backstreets one more time if you want to catch anything you missed. After that, it's time to say goodbye to your travel mates and head out, hopefully with some great memories of your time in Japan.
