- PLPatricia· April 15th, 2025The good news: We got to see more regions in Japan than most two week tours. We traveled with interesting, kind and fun people. The bad news: traveling for two weeks on buses, trains/Shinkansen, subways and on foot, sometimes carrying necessary hand luggage, and sometimes in the rain was something I haven’t had to do for at least 65 years when an international trip like this would have been a dream.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Patricia, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! - WGWILLIAM· November 16th, 2024Good itinerary, but our guide was not the best. He was alright although he expressed little enthusiasm and for free time offered little advice regarding options. No effort was made to help tour group members get acquainted upon first meeting. Accommodations were quite nice and usually close to sites of interest. Travel talk could consider providing a summary of cultural norms for the country so that group or individual behavior is not offensive to locals. Overall a good tour but could have been better given another guide.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi William, thank you for your feedback! - RBRishi Dheeradj Kumar· October 17th, 2024The trip was good enough. It was a very pleasant adventure! With alot of walking and hiking. My advice: Bring very good walking shoes!! We visit alot of temples, nature is excellent and the people are very respectful. The downside of this trip is: If you are moving to another big city the you need to leave your big baggage in the hotel so they will transfer to the other hotel. You will miss the baggage about 2 or 3 days. So bring a very large backpack with you! In Comfort Hotel hiroshimaShow moreTrip date: September 2024

- LTLuis· June 2nd, 2024**Review: TourRadar's Japan Tour Experience** Booking a tour with TourRadar was a mixed experience. While the booking process was straightforward and the customer service was responsive via email, the overall organization of the tour left much to be desired. Firstly, the final hotel information was provided only 1-2 days before departure, and even then, the details were inaccurate. We ended up staying in different hotels than those initially listed. TourRadar also did not offer any assistance for getting to the hotel, stating that everyone in Japan uses the train. This lack of support was inconvenient, especially for first-time visitors. The quality of the hotels varied significantly, ranging from excellent to average to just okay. Additionally, there were numerous discrepancies between the itinerary and the actual places visited. The tour relied heavily on public transportation, including local buses that were often overcrowded, which made the travel experience less comfortable. Another major downside was that almost all attractions required additional entrance fees. Given the price of the tour, I expected these costs to be included. The saving grace of the tour was our guide, Zac. He was extremely knowledgeable and did his best to address and rectify the issues and discrepancies we encountered. His efforts were commendable and made the trip more enjoyable. Overall, this method of exploring a country may suit some travelers, but it was not the right fit for me. TourRadar needs to improve its organization and transparency to ensure a smoother experience for its customers.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Luis, thank you for sharing your feedback. - ingenueGi· May 31st, 2024Japan is an amazing country and I enjoyed the tour with our guide John. It was great learning about Japan but more importantly seeing so many sights. Himeji castle was left off the itinerary which I think disappointed some people but I don’t think this will be anyone’s last trip to Japan as it’s such an amazing country. I have truly been changed by this experience. My one suggestion would be to raise the prices a bit and get some pickup and drop off transport in places like Mt. Koya. The walking became too much and not having luggage for certain days was a challenge but it was okay in the end.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Gigi, thank you for your review! - MGMaria· April 30th, 2024Some parts of the original Itinerary were changed by Travel Talk. The tour lieder provided by Travel Talk was efficient in logistics, taking the group from point A to point B on time etc. but unexperienced as a tour guide. He appeared to lack knowledge about the monuments and historical places to be able explain about what we were seeing and therefore we did not received the guide service we paid forShow moreTrip date: March 2024
- TSTami· April 23rd, 2024We covered a lot of ground and saw quite a lot, however, the pace was really too fast and we never had real free time, like half a day, as was described in the tour discriptiuon. Also, the first guide was great, from Tokyo - Kyoto but could have explained more history. The second guide was not so wonderful. He ran from place to place, no banner to follow and he gave great history on sites but couldn't answer our questions to him. I.E. when will we get back? When are we having free time? I know we were older than some of the people but even the younger ones were getting beat down.Show moreTrip date: March 2024

Asked on May 3rd, 2025Is it possible to join the tour if I am 79 years old when the tour has an age cap of 60 years old?
- Travel TalkOperator•Written May 2025
You are absolutely welcome to join the tour! There's no issue at all with your age, especially given your active lifestyle.

Traveler•Written May 2025Is it possible to set up a time to chat? I'm interested in learning how many people have already signed up and if there is a minimum number for the tour to actually take place and what's the maximum number? Is it possible to book extra days at the beginning and end of the tour and, if so, what's the cost? Do you handle trip insurance and if not, do you have recommended agencies? Do you assist with making flight reservations? In the free times listed in the schedule, is it possible to arrange for tours in places like Tokyo and Kyoto especially? There is a possibility that we may not be able to arrive in Tokyo until 12/15---can that be worked out with the tour guide?
- Travel TalkOperator•Written May 2025
Group size: The minimum number of participants is 4. Upcoming bookings are expected, so the tour is on track to operate. The maximum group size is 40, but for December, it's unlikely to reach that number. Extra days: We do not book extra nights directly. You are welcome to contact the hotel listed in the itinerary to make your own arrangements. Travel insurance: As a tour operator, we do not provide insurance. However, if you are booking through TourRadar, they may offer coverage options. Flights: We do not assist with flight bookings. Optional tours: These are not operated by Travel Talk. You are free to arrange your own activities during the scheduled free time, especially in cities like Tokyo and Kyoto. Late arrival: If you are arriving on 12/15, you may still join the tour, but you would need to make your way independently to catch up with the group.

Traveler•Written February 2025What is your flight suggestion for the tours which start in Tokyo and end in Osaka (or the other way around) - to book a one way flights for arrival and return or to fly back to the arrival town (because of the cheaper return flight for the same arrival and return destination)?
- Travel TalkOperator•Written February 2025
Unfortunately, we do not provide flight booking services. may arrange your flight independently depending on your preferences or with the help of a travel agent. While we don't have strict age restrictions, we do provide guidelines to ensure everyone's comfort. Passengers that falls out of this age group (18-59) and traveling alone may find it beneficial to consider booking a private room. For this reason we request to add a singe supplement. This enhances comfort throughout the tour, providing a personal space to relax and unwind after exciting adventures.

Asked on January 6th, 2025Do we have our luggage with us the whole time or does the bags get forwarded on and we have to pack overnight bags on some ocassions. Do you have a list of the optional extras and prices so I can budget for that before deciding to book.
- Travel TalkOperator•Written January 2025
As luggage is not transported on the same bus as the passengers (except small handbags) transferred to certain transfer points. Passengers cannot reach their luggage until the specified times. One piece of large luggage is transported separately, while you can carry one small backpack or carry-on onto the train. We recommend that all our passengers prepare a backpack for the days when you cannot reach the luggage. – Luggage transfer means passengers do not have access to their suitcases (large luggage) for 1 or 2 days until they reach the destination where the luggage was forwarded to. All entrance fees that are not included are listed for each day of the tour from Tokyo to Osaka.
