- Day 1
Casablanca
You'll get picked up from Casablanca Airport and head to your hotel to settle in. Meeting your group leader happens at 6 pm, so if your flight gets in early, there's time to check out the Villa des Arts or the Museum of Judaism. Tonight you'll have a welcome dinner with traditional Moroccan food like tagine, couscous, and pastilla.

Casablanca to Meknes
Start by seeing the Mosque of Hassan II in Casablanca, then drive north to Rabat. You'll walk through the medina and souks, then head to the Kasbah des Oudaias where you'll have mint tea at a café with ocean views. From there, visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan Tower mosque before continuing to Meknes in the late afternoon.

Meknes to Chefchaouen
The medina in Meknes is your first stop, where you'll see the shrine of Moulay Ismail, the granaries, and a local market. After that, you'll drive to the ruins of Volubilis with a local guide showing you this former Roman provincial capital. Lunch is a picnic with bread, cheese, fruits, and olives, then you continue to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, known for its blue-washed buildings.

Chefchaouen
A local guide takes you through Chefchaouen's blue medina, walking the winding alleyways and cobbled plazas while discovering unique doorways. You'll stop for a goat's cheese tasting. The afternoon is yours to spend however you'd like—photograph the streets, shop for handicrafts, or sit at a café. Ask your leader about the optional home-cooked dinner available tonight.

Chefchaouen to Fes
After saying goodbye to Chefchaouen, you head to Fes, Morocco's spiritual and cultural heart. When you arrive, you'll relax in a local hammam. This evening brings a private dining experience at a local family's home-turned-restaurant where you'll try pastilla and hear the story behind this celebrated Moroccan dish from your hosts.

Fes
You're walking into Fes el Bali, the Old Town and once a major center for Islamic and Jewish learning. Your leader shares historical stories while you navigate twisting streets alongside donkeys, checking out historic khans, medresses, dye pits, and busy market stalls. You'll visit Al-Attarine Madrasa, the tanneries, and the beautiful Funduq Nejjarine. After traditional mint tea, the afternoon is free to explore on your own.

Fes to Erfoud
It's a long driving day from the city to Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara. The landscape changes as you go—you'll see olive groves, shepherd flocks, cedar and pine forests, and date palm valleys with High Atlas Mountains in the distance. Erfoud is a French-built town with distinctive red sand architecture, and you can try fresh dates from the local market when you arrive.

Erfoud to Sahara Desert
You'll explore Khemliya village on the edge of Erg Chebbi sand dunes, a place known for its distinctive music and dance. There's a demonstration of medfouna, the local specialty dish, and you'll try it for lunch. Then you ride a camel through the desert to your camp in the sand dunes. The night includes a traditional feast under the stars with live Gnaoua music around an open fire.

Sahara Desert to Dades Valley
You'll wake early for a desert sunrise, then have breakfast before driving to Todra Gorge, a massive limestone trench that rises over 250 meters high. A short, gentle hike takes you through the gorge. Later you continue to Dades Valley for the next two nights. The scenery here is really nice—green valleys and wind-carved rock formations. Your accommodation has a pool and terrace where you can relax and take in the views.

Dades Valley
Today you're exploring largely untouched backcountry on foot. Your leader can create a hiking route based on what the group prefers—there's a 10 km circuit option that takes about 4 hours and requires only basic fitness level. You'll trek with a local guide through rolling terrain, stopping in a village for tea with a local Amazigh family who'll talk about their way of life with the Rose Valley and surrounding mountains as your backdrop.

Dades Valley to Ait Benhaddou
After breakfast, you head out on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs from Dades Valley. You'll visit Skoura Oasis with privately owned kasbahs like Kasbah Ameridhl. Then comes Ait Benhaddou, an 11th-century hilltop site and UNESCO location (famous from Game of Thrones). Walking the winding streets to the top gives you scenic views. You'll also visit Taman'Art Space studio to meet the artist founder, then have lunch at Tawesna, a riverside community teahouse that supports local women, with Amazigh bread, soup, sweets, and mint tea.

Ait Benhaddou to Ouirgane
You leave Ait Benhaddou after breakfast and drive through winding Atlas Mountain roads with photo stops along the way. Ouirgane is a tranquil village in the High Atlas foothills at 1000 meters altitude with Mount Toubkal views. This less-visited area lets you walk through red-earth hills and pine forests, watch birds, and relax. Check with your leader about afternoon hiking options with a local guide.

Ouirgane to Marrakech
You're heading to Tahanaout for a hands-on cooking class with a well-known local chef. Explore an organic kitchen garden surrounded by olive groves and orchards in a traditional Amazigh village. You'll harvest fresh ingredients and learn to cook tagines and salads with aromatic Moroccan herbs. After enjoying your lunch of what you made, you continue to Marrakech. Check into your riad and take a look at Djemaa el-Fna square or relax at a rooftop restaurant overlooking it.

After breakfast, a local guide takes you through the medina and its bustling souks. You'll explore Bahia Palace's quiet courtyards, then see Koutoubia Mosque from the outside (non-Muslims can't enter, but the minaret is worth seeing). Walk to Djemaa el-Fna and taste fresh-squeezed orange juice from a local stall. The rest of your day is free—visit Le Jardin Secret, haggle in the medina, or relax. Your group might organize a farewell dinner at one of many good local restaurants if you want to join.

Marrakech to Essaouira
You drive to Essaouira where the medina meets the Atlantic Ocean. An orientation walk with your leader takes you through markets and narrow streets while learning about local life. The colorful harbor has boats and a fish souk. You'll pick a catch of the day and hand it to a local restaurant to grill. Your leader also shows you fresh vegetable markets where you'll choose salads and veggies for your seafood lunch with the group.

This day is completely free to explore Essaouira. Walk the charming sandstone streets that once drew people like Orson Welles and Jimi Hendrix. Explore the coast and sand dunes on horseback, check out Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum with its artifacts and traditional instruments, watch kite surfers, take a cooking class, or venture outside the city to see the beautiful surroundings.

Essaouira to Marrakech
The morning is free for more exploration. Pick up local handicrafts at markets or enjoy a final coffee in the square while soaking up the relaxed rhythm. In the afternoon, you drive back to Marrakech. After settling into your hotel, head back to Djemaa el-Fna and the medina. Finish your trip with dinner at one of the outdoor restaurants lining the square.
