Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens
You'll arrive at Athens airport or port and head to your hotel to get settled. From there, the rest of the day is yours to explore however you like. Syntagma Square works well for a central starting point, and Ermou Street in Kolonaki has good shops if you're in the mood for some browsing. The old Plaka district is also close by with narrow streets, local shops, and souvenirs if you want to wander around and get a feel for the city.

- Day 2
Athens to Delphi to Kalambaka
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll head north through Beotia, passing through Thebes and Levadia on the way to Arachova. From there you'll visit the Delphi Archaeological Site before continuing on to Kalambaka, which sits right at the base of the Meteora rock formations. You'll have dinner and stay overnight in Kalambaka, so you can settle in and prepare for exploring those famous monasteries the next day.

- Day 3
Kalambaka to Thessaloniki
Starting with hotel breakfast, you'll spend the morning visiting the Meteora monasteries perched on top of those towering rocks. You'll see Byzantine art and get a real sense of why monks chose such remote locations. After leaving Kalambaka, you'll drive through the Thessaly plain and the Valley of Tempi, where you'll pass Mount Olympos. Later that afternoon you'll arrive in Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, where you'll have dinner and stay overnight.

- Day 4
Thessaloniki
You'll have breakfast then join a guided tour through Thessaloniki's Byzantine heritage. The tour focuses on the city's oldest churches and covers its role as an important center during the Byzantine Empire. You'll also visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture, which received the Council of Europe's Museum Prize back in 2005. The afternoon is free, so you can wander through the lively city center at your own pace and grab lunch wherever looks good.

Historical Macedonia Tour
After breakfast, you'll explore historical Macedonia with several stops. You'll see the waterfalls in Edessa, then head to Naoussa to visit Aristotle's School where he taught Alexander the Great. Vergina comes next with its museum inside the Great Tumulus, featuring royal Macedonian tombs and artifacts from King Philip II. Later you'll stop in Veria to see Saint Paul's Bema and the old Jewish neighborhood and market before driving back to Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight.

Macedonia to Athens
Breakfast at your hotel starts the day, then you'll drive to Pella, the ancient capital of Macedon and birthplace of Alexander the Great. You'll see 4th century BC floor mosaics from old villas in their original locations and at the new museum. After Pella, you'll explore the Archaeological Park of Dion, which was sacred to the Macedonians and sits at the foot of Mount Olympos. From there you'll head south through Thessaly and Lamia, stop at Thermopylae to see Leonidas' Monument, pass through Thebes, and arrive in Athens by late afternoon.

Athens
Your final morning includes breakfast at your hotel, then you can spend time exploring Athens on your own or book an optional half-day city tour that covers the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum if you want. When it's time, you'll get transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
