Your Mexican adventure begins with a warm welcome. After you arrive, your transfer guide will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in the city center, giving you time to settle in and get oriented.

Mexico City
Meet your guide at 8:30 am in the hotel lobby to start exploring. You'll check out the Templo Mayor first, then walk through the historic center before heading to Xochimilco to see the famous floating gardens. It's a full day that covers a lot of ground.

Mexico City
This morning you'll visit Colegio de San Ildefonso and Plaza Santo Domingo. From there, head to the National Anthropological Museum to see artifacts from Olmec, Toltec, Aztec and Mayan cultures. Later you'll spend time in Chapultepec Park walking around the lakes and sculpture garden before ending at Torre Latinoamericana for views across the city.

Mexico City - Puebla
Start at the Basilica of Guadalupe, one of Latin America's most important religious sites. Then drive to Teotihuacán to explore the pyramid complex with its 64-metre Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon. On the way you'll see the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl. Finish the day in colonial Puebla, visiting the Dominican church and its rosary chapel.

- Day 5
Puebla - Oaxaca
Explore the Jardín Botánico in Zapotitlán Salinas, a natural cactus forest with tall columnar cacti and palm trees you can walk through. Drive through the Sierra Madre del Sur landscape to Monte Albán, where you'll see Zapotec and Mixtec ruins on a flattened ridge with terraces, temples and tombs. You'll arrive in Oaxaca by evening.

- Day 6
Oaxaca
Visit the Museo Cultural de Oaxaca, housed in a former Dominican monastery. You'll see impressive gold works from Monte Albán that show Mixtec craftsmanship. After lunch, wander through Oaxaca's old town alleyways where traders and musicians fill the streets. You can try traditional hot chocolate, tortillas and grilled grasshoppers while watching local artisans at work.

Oaxaca Region
You'll drive out to Santa Maria del Tule first thing to see the Ahuehuete tree, which is genuinely ancient and worth the detour. From there, head to Mitla where you can walk through the archaeological site and check out those pre-Hispanic columns and the Patio de las Grecas. Later, stop by a mezcal distillery in Santiago Matatlan to do some tastings and learn how they make it. After that, you'll travel through the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains heading toward Tehuantepec. On the way, you'll stop at Playa Cangrejo on the Pacific coast, where you can swim if you want, take a walk along the beach, or grab lunch with fresh seafood right there. It's a full day covering several regions, so plan for around 10-12 hours of driving and activities.

Chiapa de Corzo to San Cristóbal de las Casas
Start by traveling to Chiapa de Corzo, which is one of the oldest Spanish settlements in Chiapas and has some nice colonial character. From there, you'll get on a boat and head through Sumidero Canyon, where the cliffs rise about 1,000 meters straight up from the water. You'll see water birds, spider monkeys, and crocodiles during the boat trip, so bring binoculars and a camera. After you finish the canyon tour and get back, you'll drive through the mountainous Chiapas region to reach San Cristóbal de las Casas, which sits at around 2,200 meters elevation/7,200 feet. By evening you'll arrive in the town with its cool mountain air and colonial architecture. Expect the boat tour to take a few hours, plus driving time to and from both locations.

- Day 9
San Cristóbal de las Casas - Indigenous Villages
Take a sightseeing tour of San Cristóbal, walking past the cathedral, Palacio Municipal and the baroque church of Santo Domingo. Then drive to the Indian village of San Juan Chamula to see how Catholicism blends with ancient Mayan rituals. Continue to Zinacantán to visit the colonial church and a small weaving workshop run by three sisters, where you'll have freshly made tortillas and learn about village traditions.

San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque
You'll drive through some of Mexico's most untouched landscapes heading toward Palenque. Depending on traffic, you'll stop at either Roberto Barrios waterfalls or the falls of Misol-Há to break up the journey and see the natural scenery.

- Day 11
Palenque - Campeche
In the morning, explore Palenque, one of Mexico's most beautiful ruined cities. You'll see the Temple of Inscriptions with over 620 hieroglyphs, the great palace, Temple of the Sun and North Temple. After that, drive along the Gulf coast to Campeche to see colonial buildings inside a fortified wall, bastions, the Zócalo and La Concepción Cathedral.

Campeche - Mérida
Head to Uxmal to see one of the most striking Late Classic Mayan sites, where the Pyramid of the Magician dominates the landscape. In the afternoon, continue to Mérida, the colonial capital of Yucatán. Walk through narrow streets and see the colonial charm, including horse-drawn carriages that move through the city.

- Day 13
Mérida - Cancún
Visit Chichén Itzá, perhaps the most well-known archaeological site in Yucatán. You'll see the large ball court, El Cenote cenote, El Caracol observatory and El Castillo pyramid. Then drive to the Caribbean coast, what the Maya called the 'end of the rainbow'. You'll arrive in Cancún around 5:00 pm, a tropical destination known for its natural beauty.
