Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arusha to Serengeti

Your hotel pickup happens early morning from Arusha, and from there you'll travel on rough dirt tracks that wind up out of the Rift Valley. The landscape changes as you gain elevation, and by midday you'll reach the Serengeti's open grassland. The plains stretch out in every direction, and this is where you'll see the massive herds that migrate through the region each year. You'll settle in at a campsite either in the northern or central sections of the park for the night.

  2. Day 2

    Serengeti

Today is all about watching wildlife in the Serengeti. Depending on where you stayed, you might do a full day drive or split it into an early morning and afternoon session around Seronera. If you're here between December and May, the herds are massive with wildebeests and zebras, and January through March brings newborn calves and foals. Leopards hang out in the Seronera area too, though they're harder to spot since they're active mainly at night.

  3. Day 3

    Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast at your own pace, you'll head down into the crater at 9 a.m. for a half day tour that wraps up by 3 p.m. This part of Tanzania has its own ecosystem packed with wildlife, and it's often called the secret garden. During your time in the crater, you'll have a picnic lunch. Later in the evening at 7 p.m., you'll drive back toward Arusha town to finish out the day.

    End point
    Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (Kilimanjaro International Airport)

Great family holiday for all 6 of us. Frank was a great guide and driver. He was caring and knowledgeable, especially about birds.

Everything was fine, great guide William and his team tried their best! Excellent acclimatization schedule, William speaks English very good and told us a lot of interesting information about Kilimanjaro and Tanzania during our hiking. William and his team provide very good service and took care about us whole time! The only one thing we want to improve - the waiter should learn English.

We had recently gone on a 6 day safari with Viola tours and we couldnt have been more satisfied. From the booking stage and customisation to the actual tour, everything was handled without any problem. Violet was prompt on the email and answered any queries that came up. For the tour itself, we had Frank, an experienced guide whose knowledge of the parks, environment and topography was really great. His spotting ability was also amazing, and often, we were hard pressed to see even with binoculars, what he had spotted with the naked eye. Apart from the animals, his knowledge of birds was also fantastic. From a sparrow to the secretary bird, he knew them all. He also found where the migration was and ensured that we saw a part of it. The vehicle provided was also good, and we hardly felt the rough roads. Though we had a breakdown once, Frank attended to it promptly, and we were back on schedule in the least possible time. All in all, a great experience and I would whole heartedly recommend Viola Tours.
