Itinerary
- Day 1
San Jose to Tortuguero
Your pickup happens at 6:00 am from the San Jose hotel, traveling by shared transfer with breakfast included along the way. From there you'll head to the dock and board a boat heading to your lodge in Tortuguero. After grabbing lunch, a guided expedition takes you through the Tortuguero Canals where you'll paddle through lagoons and hidden waterways. The further into the forest you go, the closer the wildlife gets. Dinner wraps up the evening back at the lodge.

Tortuguero
Starting after breakfast, you'll join a guided nature walk on the lodge's private tropical trails with a guide looking for reptiles, birds, mammals, and monkeys throughout the region. The guide shares information about the dense vegetation and what lives there. Lunch happens at the lodge, then the afternoon takes you into Tortuguero village itself, a car-free town with around 500 people located between beach and canal. You'll walk through colorful streets, see Caribbean culture firsthand, and chat with locals. The evening brings you back to the lodge for dinner.

Tortuguero to San Jose
Have your final breakfast at the lodge, then take a shared boat and land transfer back toward San Jose. The journey includes a lunch stop at a restaurant in Guapiles. From there, continue on to San Jose with drop-off around 3:00 pm.
