Itinerary
- Day 1
Arequipa
You'll arrive in Arequipa and get settled at your hotel by noon. The early afternoon is yours to relax or wander around shops if you feel like it. Later on, you'll explore the city's main spots. Head to Carmen Alto and Yanahuara for views of Misti volcano towering over everything, check out the main square and cathedral, see the Church of the Company of Jesus, and walk through Santa Catalina Monastery, which dates back to the colonial period and covers a whole city block.

- Day 2
Arequipa to Colca Canyon
Someone picks you up at 8am and you'll head toward Chachani, a snowy mountain. The drive takes you through Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve where wild vicunas, alpacas, and llamas roam around. You'll spot bird species too like flamingos, ibis, Andean geese, and eagles if you're lucky. Then you'll stop at the Patapampa volcanoes viewpoint at 4,800m/15,748ft to take in the high-altitude scenery. From there, it's on to Chivay at 3,600m/11,811ft, which is the main town in Colca Valley. After lunch there, the rest of the afternoon is free to rest up.

- Day 3
Colca Canyon
You'll leave early, around 6am after a quick breakfast, and spend the full day exploring the left side of the canyon. The route takes you through colonial towns like Yanque and Maca where you'll see local churches and people wearing traditional embroidered clothing. Throughout the area, hundreds of pre-Inca terraces are still being farmed and worked, which is interesting to see. After about two hours of driving, you'll reach La Cruz del Condor where the canyon opens up dramatically below you. This is where condors soar through the air, and you'll have time to look around the viewpoint. By 5pm, you're heading back to Arequipa.

- Day 4
Arequipa
At 8am, you're picked up to visit ashlar quarries in the Cerro Colorado district, just 30 minutes from central Arequipa. You'll see the Quarries Añashuayco where stonemasons extract Ignimbrite and craft Sillar stone by hand. The guides explain the detailed preparation process and tell you about this traditional building material's history. You're back in central Arequipa by around 1pm, leaving the afternoon open to explore the city on your own or check out museums if that interests you.
