Itinerary
- Day 1
Tuxtla Gutiérrez to San Cristóbal de Las Casas
You'll arrive at Tuxtla Gutiérrez airport and get transferred to start the trip. The boat ride along the Grijalva River gives you views of Sumidero Canyon, where the geological formations and wildlife are really something to see. From there, you head to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, check into your hotel, and then the rest of the day is yours to walk around town and get your bearings.

- Day 2
Chamula - Zinacantán
After breakfast, you'll visit Tzotzil communities in the highlands. Chamula shows how local traditions blend with ancestral Mayan practices, and then Zinacantán has a church and a local family who'll give you a traditional welcome drink, possibly letting you help make fresh tortillas. Back in San Cristóbal, there's a walking tour of the city, leaving your afternoon free to rest or explore on your own.

- Day 3
Montebello Lakes
Today takes you from San Cristóbal toward Montebello Lakes. First stop is Amatenango del Valle where indigenous potters show you their craft and techniques. Then you see Chiflón Waterfalls in the middle of lush vegetation and sugar cane fields. After that comes Montebello Lakes with its different colored waters and varied landscape. You head back to San Cristóbal in the evening after a full day.

San Cristóbal de Las Casas to Palenque
Starting early toward Palenque means stopping at Agua Azul first to see the clear water and natural falls. Next is Misol-Ha waterfall set in tropical jungle. By afternoon you're at Palenque archaeological site walking through the Palace, Temple of the Foliated Cross, and Temple of the Sun to understand the Mayan history here. Later you transfer to your hotel in Palenque for the night.

- Day 5
Lacandon Community
You'll leave early heading to Frontera Corozal and then to Yaxchilan, an archaeological site with intricate stone carvings and structures from ancient Mayan times. From there, Bonampak shows you detailed murals painted on the walls that tell stories of Mayan life and culture. By evening you transfer to a Lacandon community where you'll sleep in rustic jungle cabins surrounded by the forest.

- Day 6
Lacandon Jungle
After breakfast, a Lacandon guide leads you into the jungle on trails where they explain the plants, animals, and landscape. You walk along the Cedros River and see Mactuni-Ha waterfall, taking in the environment around you. After lunch back at camp, you head out toward Palenque in the afternoon, leaving the jungle behind.

Palenque to Villahermosa
Starting with breakfast, you drive to Villahermosa to visit La Venta museum, which holds one of the largest Olmec artifact collections. The exhibits break down into four categories: altars, stelae, freestanding sculptures, and colossal heads that show what this ancient civilization created. Later you get transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
