Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Lima
You'll arrive in Lima today and get settled into your accommodation for the night. This gives you a chance to shake off travel fatigue and start getting oriented to Peru.

Lima to Paracas
After a panoramic drive through Lima's historic center, you'll head south toward Paracas. The coastal landscape changes gradually as you travel, and you'll spend the night in this laid-back beach town.

Ballestas Islands and Huacachina Oasis
This is a full day on the water and land. You'll take a boat out to the Ballestas Islands to see sea lions, pelicans, cormorants, and if you're lucky, Humboldt penguins. From there you'll visit the Candelabro ground drawing before heading inland to Ica. You'll check out Huacachina Oasis and stop at a local bodega to try pisco. Later you'll travel to Nazca for the night.

Nazca Lines and travel to Arequipa
There's an optional flight over the Nazca Lines if you want it, departing early morning. After that, you'll travel through some beautiful terrain with several stops along the way to Arequipa, where you'll stay two nights.

Arequipa City Tour
You'll walk through Arequipa's historic center starting at Plaza de Armas and check out the Santa Catalina monastery complex. Then you'll head to San Camilo market to learn about regional medicinal plants and local goods, plus visit a social project. The afternoon is yours to explore however you'd like.

Sacred Valley
After flying to Cuzco, you'll continue on to the Sacred Valley. You'll see the colorful Indian market in Pisac and walk through the Pisac ruins. Later you'll get to Ollantaytambo where you can wander the original village and climb up the rock fortress.

Maras, Moray and Aguas Calientes
You'll start the day at the salt mines of Maras, then move on to the agricultural Inca terraces of Moray. In the afternoon, you'll catch the panoramic train heading to Aguas Calientes, which sits at the base of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu and Cuzco
This morning you'll head up early to Machu Picchu and be among the first ones there, catching that misty dawn atmosphere with mountain views all around. If you're interested, there's an optional hike up Huayna Picchu. Later you'll drive back to Cuzco for a two-night stay.

Cuzco City Exploration
You'll explore Cuzco on foot, walking through the old town. You'll visit Plaza de Armas with its cathedral and check out the artists' quarter in San Blas. The afternoon is free for your own activities, so you can rest up or continue exploring at your own pace.

Lake Titicaca
You'll travel through Andean villages with snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota Cordillera surrounding you on the way to Lake Titicaca. Along the route you'll visit the impressive ruins of Raqchi. After that, you'll head to Puno for the night.

Copacabana and Island of the Sun
You'll cross the border into Bolivia today. First you'll explore the small port town of Copacabana on Lake Titicaca's shores, then take a boat out to the Island of the Sun. You'll walk to your eco-lodge with great views of the lake.

Island of the Sun to La Paz
You'll catch the sunrise on Isla del Sol and soak in the island's peaceful atmosphere before heading back to Copacabana by boat. After that, you'll travel to La Paz where you'll stay two nights and have the rest of the day free.

La Paz and Valle de la Luna
You'll take a city tour of La Paz and walk through the famous witches' market with its medicinal herbs and talismans. Then you'll head out to Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) to see the unusual stone formations.

Uyuni Salt Desert
After flying to Uyuni, you'll check out the railroad cemetery. Then you'll start an expedition across the world's largest salt desert where white salt stretches in every direction. You'll have lunch on a floating island surrounded by tall cacti. Later you'll visit the Galaxy Caves and spend the night at a salt hotel.

Lipez Highlands
You'll travel through the highlands toward Lipez, passing lagoons and volcanoes along the way. You'll see the stone tree formation called 'arbol de piedra'. You'll stay overnight in basic desert accommodation at 4,500 m elevation.

Atacama Desert Lagoons
Today brings a mix of colors and natural features. You'll see the reddish Laguna Colorada with pink flamingos, the Sol de Mañana geyser field with steaming fountains, and the turquoise Laguna Verde. Then you'll reach the Atacama Desert and enjoy a typical aperitif with sunset views in Valle de la Luna. You'll stay two nights in San Pedro de Atacama.

This is a full-day excursion to the Atacama Salt Lake. You'll see highland lagoons and check out the azure blue mountain lakes of Miscanti and Miñiques at 4,200 m, with their namesake volcanoes rising behind them. You'll hike through the Socaire Gorge to reach the lakes.

You'll start very early to catch El Tatio geysers at sunrise when they're most active and the bubbling is best. After that, you'll visit the village of Machuca to learn how the Atacameños live in their simple, traditional way. Later you'll fly to Santiago de Chile for a two-night stay.

Santiago de Chile City Tour
You'll walk through Mercado Central on a city tour and enjoy views of Santiago from Cerro Santa Lucia if the weather cooperates. In the evening, you'll wrap up your trip with a farewell dinner in the creative Bellavista district.
