Overall, a well-organized, informative trip with a dense programme that really gave us an overview of Puglia, its landscape and its history. The tour guide was very competent as well as friendly and flexible, a combination that you don't come across very often and which can be described as a stroke of luck for a trip of this kind. The only thing in the program that could be safely omitted would be the visit to the weekly market (this time Cisternino), because these markets seem to have pretty much fallen out of the world and the visit actually meant a waste of dry time, which was in short supply on this trip. This is where the flexibility and empathy of the tour guide came into play, who offered to visit the vegetable and fish market without further ado, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The other culinary items on the program were well chosen and also of good quality. But now to the reason for the somewhat poor rating, namely the accommodation. If you describe the location as being in the "middle of nowhere", then that's just whitewashing. There was actually no infrastructure in the hotel, the rooms were acceptable and clean. The breakfast buffet was monotonous, fresh fruit was only available on a first come, first serve basis and even eggs were not available once. The friendliness and commitment of the staff varied greatly. Admittedly, all this was at a moderate price. However, we would have liked to have paid more for a little more comfort. If we were to differentiate the stars, we would have given the tour guide five stars, the program four stars and the accommodation two stars
