- Day 1
Faro to Monchique
You'll arrive at Faro Airport and meet your local representative who helps with car hire. Spend the morning walking through Faro's old town, checking out the narrow streets and whitewashed buildings. Grab a drink or try some local shellfish at one of the restaurants with sea views. Then you'll drive to Monchique and head to your hotel where you can relax at the thermal resort for the rest of the day.

Sagres - Lagos
After an early breakfast, take a short walk to Fonte dos Amores at Caldas de Monchique. From there, drive to Cape São Vicente to see the Sagres fortress and the Atlantic Ocean views, then head to the rural village of Pedralva. You'll have lunch somewhere along the way if you'd like. Later, drive along the coast through Lagos and finish up watching the sunset at Ponta da Piedade.

Monchique to Grândola
Following breakfast, check out and head toward Grândola. On the drive, you'll visit Monchique village and can hike up to Foia Peak, the highest point in Algarve. After that, continue to Aljezur along the coastline, where you can stop for lunch and try the local Perceves specialty if interested. You'll pass through Vila Nova de Mil Fontes and arrive at your hotel in the Valley of Sobreiros. The rest of the day is yours to relax and check out the hotel and the surrounding rural landscape.

Grândola
Start with breakfast at the hotel, then explore Grândola's archaeological sites and monuments from the Carnation Revolution. Drive to Comporta beach on the south of Troia to spend some time there, then visit Cais Palafitico da Carrasqueira with its wooden piles and traditional fishing boats. On your way back to the hotel, you'll pass through villages like Melides and Santiago de Cacém, getting a sense of Alentejo's rustic character.

Grândola to Évora
After breakfast and checking out, you'll drive toward Évora, which has a reputation as a book of Portuguese art history. Along the way, you'll pass the Alqueva Reservoir, Europe's largest artificial lake, and visit Aldeia da Luz, a village that was submerged by the dam. Check out the museum there to learn about the history. Then pass through Reguengos de Monsaraz, which is known for its wines. You'll arrive in Évora by afternoon, check in to your hotel, and have time to relax.

- Day 6
Badajoz - Évora
After breakfast, drive to Badajoz in Spain. You'll stop at Evoramonte to see the traditional white-painted houses, then visit Estremoz, a busy market center with shops selling farm tools, pottery, and gourmet goods (there's a large market on Saturdays if you happen to be there). In Elvas, you'll see the world's largest bulwarked fortification from Portugal's independence battles and the Napoleonic Wars. After crossing into Spain to see Badajoz with its museums and hilltop Alcazaba, you'll head back to Évora for the afternoon to walk around the romantic streets and eat at local restaurants.

Try local dishes like Migas com Carne, a traditional bread and pork dish. By afternoon, you'll say farewell and drive back to Monchique.
