Itinerary
- Day 1
Munich
You'll arrive in Munich and get settled at your hotel. The city has plenty to see on your own time, including the English Garden where you can walk around and relax, the town hall with its distinctive Gothic architecture, and the Hofbräuhaus if you want to grab a drink or meal. It's a good day to get your bearings and maybe take an evening stroll through the city center.

Munich to Lake Starnberg
Start cycling from Munich through Forstenrieder Park heading south toward Lake Starnberg. The route follows the lakeside path after that, and you'll have your choice of stopping in Ambach or Bernried. The water's clear and you get views of the mountains the whole way, so it's a nice introduction to cycling here.

Lake Riegsee to Garmisch-Partenkirchen
You'll cycle past Lake Riegsee to reach Murnau, then head through the Murnauer Moos nature reserve, which is Europe's largest marshland. The path follows the Loisach river from there into Garmisch-Partenkirchen. If you're up for it, there's an optional train ride on the Zugspitzbahn that goes up to 2962m/9,715ft for views of the Alps.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Leutasch
The route takes you through a high mountain valley with the Karwendel and Wettersteingebirge mountains on either side. You'll reach Mittenwald, a village known for its Lüftlmalerei painted houses that are really something to see. After exploring, you'll cycle through the Leutaschtal valley and cross into Austria.

Leutasch to Imst
Start cycling into the Inn river valley through rolling terrain that eventually descends about eight kilometres into Telfs. From there you'll follow the old towpath alongside the river Inn, passing the Baroque Cistercian monastery at Stams, then continue to Imst.

Imst to Malles/Burgusio
You'll cycle along the Inn past Zams monastery heading toward Landeck. A minibus handles the transport to Nauders with your bike, so you don't have to worry about the drive. Once there, it's less than 100 metres uphill to Resia mountain pass, and then you descend to Lake Resia before heading to Malles or Burgusio.

Malles to Merano
Start the day visiting Glurns, a medieval town with walls still standing. You'll cycle through Silandro passing the Montani ruins and various castles, with the Ortler mountain massif visible and Stilfser Pass in the distance. The route descends to Merano, and there's a train option if you prefer between Malles and Merano.

Merano to Ora
Cycle through Lana and into the South Tyrolean Wine Road, riding past orchards and vineyards. You'll see fortresses and castles along the way, including Hocheppan which has famous frescoes. The destination is Lake Caldaro, and you'll stay overnight in Ora, a wine town.

Ora to Trento
Today follows mostly the Adige river and passes through orchards on the way to Salorno, where the German-speaking part of South Tyrol ends. After that you'll cycle along dam ways through Trentino vineyards into Trento. The old town there is worth walking through, and you can see the cathedral and Buonconsiglio castle.

Landmarks/POIs Adige River Trento Cathedral Buonconsiglio Castle - Day 10
Trento to Torbole/Riva
Cycle on bike paths along the Adige river through to Rovereto and then Mori. The route heads west from Mori toward Lake Garda. Mori's known for its world-famous pistachio ice cream and fresh fruit juice if you want a snack. After that you'll climb Passo S. Giovanni and descend to the lake at either Torbole or Riva.
