- MSMatt· March 12th, 2025Overall, the tour was excellent. However, it is listed as a 9-day tour, but it's more like a 7-day tour. Also mentions a sunrise at Angkor Wat, which was never an option. And the tour itself is called "Fantastic Cambodia and Thailand" but we literally spent two hours (at the most) on a tour in Thailand, and that was it. Nothing fantastic about that at all.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Matt, thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the tour overall. We appreciate your thoughts on the itinerary and will review how it's presented to ensure clarity for future travellers. Hope to see you on another adventure soon! All... - SSK· December 17th, 2024The Fantastic Cambodia & Thailand trip was an incredible trip! It started off in Vietnam, then continued into Cambodia, ending in Thailand. The itinerary was packed full of awesome sites to see and things to do, and each country's tour guide really took care of the whole group, and made sure we were all ok and stayed safe. A few highlights I wanted to call out: - Whenever you change countries, you lose some people on your tour and you gain other people on your tour. I wasn't aware that was how the group would be structured. - Whenever you change countries, you also get a new tour guide since each tour guide is only able to work in that specific country. So they do not join you on the boat ride or flight into the next country. - It was less walking each day than I thought it would be. I think I had one 15k-step day, but the rest were around 8k steps per day due to all the traveling by bus or boat. - I was a solo traveler. While the rest of the tour group members made me feel included and watched out for me, Vietnam activities in particular (of the 3 countries) typically required us to get into pairs, which kept making me feel awkward and out of place. - I really enjoyed going to the chocolate factory in Vietnam and purchased 3 items - 2 chocolate bars and a jar of chocolate spread. When I got home a week later to eat them, each chocolate bar had a live worm in it(!) plus one had a spider web or silk or something on it. They both looked and tasted old, but had expiration dates for next year (2025) and the following year (2026). When I opened the jar of chocolate spread, it was sealed, but underneath the seal, it looked like a finger had been dipped into it. I was so grossed out, I threw all 3 items away. - The hotels were more what I would consider 3 stars (I am from America) since they did not have air conditioning outside of the individual rooms, the help from the concierge was limited, one hotel (the Victoria Hotel in Chau Doc) had mosquitoes that kept coming from the restroom, and that same hotel did not seem to clean its rooms (open condom wrapper on the floor in one room and uncleaned white stains on the sheets in another room). The Duong Chan Hotel in Cambodia was phenomenal, though. - The itinerary was extremely fast-paced. I typically like traveling fast, but we would typically wake up and pack for a 7am or 8am start, and then set off to see sites for the next 10 hours or so before checking into our next hotel with really no breaks. It got pretty tiring, especially for the introverts in the group. - The itinerary was amazing. We got to hold a python (if you wanted to), drink snake whiskey, go on an incredibly relaxing wooden rowboat ride, see stunning architecture, see the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed, ride a bamboo trolley, see a Cambodian cultural performance, and so much more. - These countries are incredibly hot all year round. I would suggest bringing a hat or umbrella, long-sleeved (but cooling) shirts, sunscreen, a hand fan, etc. - Travel Talk's tour guides are superb. Truly wonderful guides and people. And they can make or break your trip. Overall, I am so glad I was able to go on this trip. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you for the wonderful memories, Travel Talk!Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi, thank you for your detailed review of the Fantastic Cambodia & Thailand tour! - MWMelika· November 5th, 2023Over all it was not bad. The boarder crossing boat trip from Vietnam to Cambodia was horrendous. There was very poor communication throughout the boarder crossing process and there was no real information given prior within the tour information about what to expect here. Our best advice is to take additional USD with you to account for unspecified costs such as boarder crossing bribes. For some reason the boat was always referred to as a speed boat but it was no faster than a tinny and the toilet was the worst we have seen throughout our Asian tour (clogged and over flowing with faeces). The tour guides we had were really good so no complaints there.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Melika, thank you for sharing your feedback. - BBanhirl· March 28th, 2023Perfect! Very well organized. Very good, high class hotels. Very helpful, friendly and competent Tour Guides. Our group was only three persons and was done with comfortable Mini- Vans, so it was nearly a " private tour".Show moreTrip date: March 2023
