- Day 1
Kilimanjaro to Moshi
You'll land at Kilimanjaro airport where your tour rep meets you. After getting to your hotel in Moshi, there's a pre-trek briefing in the evening where they'll go over all your equipment. If you need any additional gear, this is when you can rent it before turning in for the night.

Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Following breakfast, you'll drive to Machame Gate and start hiking through the rainforest on a winding trail. The lower sections get slippery, so trekking poles and gaiters help here. After 5 to 6 hours of hiking, you'll reach Machame Camp sitting at 3,050 meters (10,000 feet).

Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast you'll leave the rainforest behind and tackle the steep ridge, crossing through a beautiful valley. Then you'll follow the river gorge westward until hitting Shira Camp at 3,850 meters (12,600 feet) where the terrain shifts to moorland.

Landmarks/POIs Shira Plateau - Day 4
Shira Plateau to Barranco Camp
From Shira Plateau, you head east and upward along the ridge toward Kibo peak. The route takes you past Shark's Tooth or Lava Tower, then onward to Arrow Glacier junction before dropping down to Barranco Camp at 4,000 meters (13,100 feet).

Barranco Camp to Karanga Valley
After breakfast comes the steep and rocky Barranco Wall climb to reach Karanga Valley where you'll connect with the Mweka Trail. This tough section pushes you through alpine desert terrain at about 4,050 meters (13,300 feet).

Landmarks/POIs Barranco Wall Karanga Valley - Day 6
Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp
You'll hike to Barafu Camp, your last camp before the summit push. The South Circuit trail gives you different angle views of the peaks as you go. You'll arrive at 4,700 meters (15,400 feet) and spend the evening resting with the summit in sight.

Landmarks/POIs Barafu Camp - Day 7
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and descent to Mweka Camp
Your summit attempt starts at night, hiking between the Ratzel and Rebman glaciers toward Stella Point where you'll catch the golden sunrise. From there, continue to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters (19,340 feet), Africa's highest point. After your time at the summit, you'll descend to Mweka Camp with a lunch stop at Barafu. Snow may fall during portions of this hike.

Landmarks/POIs Stella Point Uhuru Peak - Day 8
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and transfer to Arusha
After breakfast, you'll finish your descent through the forest to Mweka Park Gate where you'll get your summit certificate. Lower elevations get wet and muddy, so gaiters and poles are useful here too. Your transfer vehicle waits to drive you back to Arusha, a drive of roughly 3 hours.

Landmarks/POIs Mweka Park Gate - Day 9
Lake Manyara National Park
Your safari kicks off around 8am with a pickup from your Arusha hotel. You'll drive through Lake Manyara National Park's lush mahogany and acacia forests for a full day game drive until 5pm. Look for buffaloes, impalas, giraffes, blue monkeys, baboons, tree-climbing lions, and pink and white flamingos. There's a lunch break during the drive, then back to your lodge for dinner.

Landmarks/POIs Lake Manyara National Park - Day 10
Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you'll head toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and dense rainforest before reaching the dry plains. A Masai village visit or Olduvai Gorge stop is possible if time works out. Lunch happens at Serengeti, then your first game drive before settling at camp for the night.

Serengeti National Park game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro
An early morning game drive follows a quick breakfast so you can catch wildlife as the sun rises. You'll search for wildebeest, impala, and the big five: elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. After a picnic lunch, you'll head toward the Ngorongoro crater rim where dinner waits at your lodge.

Landmarks/POIs Serengeti National Park Ngorongoro Crater - Day 12
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you'll descend to the Ngorongoro crater floor, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera at 260 square kilometers. You can spot African elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, hyenas, cheetahs, hippos, and lions down there. Then you'll climb back up the steep crater exit before returning to Arusha with a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo pool.

Landmarks/POIs Ngorongoro Crater Hippo Pool - Day 13
Arusha to Zanzibar (Stone Town)
Your safari wraps up with breakfast in Arusha. If you've booked the Zanzibar extension, you'll catch a flight to the Spice Island. Your tour rep meets you at arrival for a guided walking tour of Stone Town with its famous carved doors. Dinner happens at the Rock Restaurant, then you'll catch the sunset at Zanzibar beach.

Landmarks/POIs Stone Town Rock Restaurant Zanzibar Beach - Day 14
Prison Island and Spice Tour
You'll spend a few hours checking out Prison Island, a former slave detention center used by Zanzibar sultans. There's a 192-year-old tortoise to see, plus swimming and snorkeling in clear waters with colorful tropical fish. Later, a guided spice tour takes you through tropical fruits, spices, herbs, and rare plants.

Landmarks/POIs Prison Island - Day 15
Zanzibar Beaches and Mnemba Atoll
This day is for Zanzibar's best beaches at Nungwi and Kendwa where you can snorkel and scuba dive along vibrant reefs. Mnemba Atoll offers snorkeling with dolphins, turtles, whales, and corals. You'll have fresh seafood and take a sailing cruise on a traditional dhow.
