Itinerary
- Day 1
San José to La Fortuna
You'll be picked up at Juan Santamaría International Airport and driven to La Fortuna de San Carlos, a small village that serves as the main base for exploring Arenal Volcano. Once you arrive at your hotel, you'll check in and get settled. The area is surrounded by rainforest and jungle, so you'll hear all sorts of wildlife sounds throughout the evening. It's a good time to relax after your travel and get oriented to the region.

- Day 2
La Fortuna
After having breakfast at your hotel, you'll head out to Mistico Park where hanging bridges and platforms let you walk through the jungle canopy. The views of Arenal Volcano from up there are quite something, and your guide will walk you through the rainforest ecology and natural history as you go. Later in the morning, there's a short hike to La Fortuna Waterfall, which drops about 60 meters into a natural pool that's good for swimming. From there, the rest of your afternoon is free to do what you like.
