Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
A driver will pick you up from the airport or bus terminal and take you to your hotel. After you get settled, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the city on your own and get a feel for the place.

- Day 2
Ischigualasto Park
Head out early from the hotel toward Ischigualasto Park, also called Valley of the Moon, traveling south on National Tourist Route 150. You'll spend about 4 hours on the internal circuit with park guides, stopping at five different stations: The Worm, Valle Pintado, Cancha de Bochas, The Submarine, and El Hongo. Along the way you'll see rock formations and learn about fossils that date back over 200 million years. After that, check out the Interpretation Center and Museum of Natural Sciences. The drive back to San Juan takes the evening, so you'll arrive fairly late.

- Day 3
Calingasta Valleys - El Leoncito Astronomical Complex
Leave early and drive west through mountain paths with nice views, heading toward the small town of Barreal in the Calingasta Valleys. From there, continue to Pampa El Leoncito, a 13-kilometer plain known for wind-powered sand yachting. Next up is the El Leoncito Astronomical Complex, which sits within a 70,000-hectare reserve. You'll get a 45-minute guided tour of the facilities, see the Jorge Sahade telescope, and look at astronomical images. On the way back, stop at Cerro Alcázar to see its distinctive rock formations up close. You should be back in San Juan around 8:00 pm.
