- Day 1
Zagreb
You'll arrive in Zagreb and get settled at your hotel. Take a walk along the chestnut-lined Stross Promenade if you feel like it, which gives you nice views over the city. Later on, your Travel Director will host dinner so you can meet the other travelers and try some local wine.

Zagreb
Walk through Zagreb's upper and lower sections with a local guide who'll show you the Art Pavilion, Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Zrinjevac Park. You'll ride the funicular up to St. Mark's Church and Lotrščak Tower, then walk back down through the Stone Gate. By afternoon, you're free to do whatever you want around the city.

Zagreb to Opatija
Head to Slovenia for the Postojna Caves. You'll board a cave train and go deep underground to see stalactites, stalagmites, columns and rock formations. The Brilliant, a five-meter tall stalagmite, is the main highlight. After that, return to Croatia and check into your hotel in Opatija.

Opatija to Split
Travel across the Istrian peninsula with a local expert to see some historic sites. First you'll check out Pula's Roman arena from the first century, where gladiators once fought. Then head to Rovinj, an old town right on the water with narrow cobbled streets, colorful bars and sidewalk cafes.

Split to Ličko Petrovo Selo
Spend the morning looking at the Adriatic coast with its rocky islands and blue water. Then you'll go inland to Plitvice Lakes National Park. You can either join a local expert to learn about habitat protection, or meet women from the Tara Community Centre who make traditional crafts.

Ličko Petrovo Selo to Split
Leave Plitvice Lakes and travel toward the coast. In Zadar, walk through Roman ruins and the market to see the sea organ. Continue through olive groves to Trogir, a city originally founded by Greeks in the 3rd century BC, where you'll see the cathedral and Renaissance Cipiko Palace. Later stop in Solin, then have dinner at a traditional konoba restaurant.

Split to Hvar
Explore Split's center with a local guide, starting in the 1,700-year-old cellar chambers of Emperor Diocletian's palace. Walk through the narrow streets and see St. Duje's and the Golden Gate. In the afternoon, you'll take a boat across the Adriatic to Hvar island, which is known for being very sunny and having lavender fields and mountain views.

Hvar
You have the full day free on Hvar. Visit hidden coves, beaches, old monasteries and small villages. Check out Stari Grad, one of Europe's oldest towns and a UNESCO site with a good archaeological museum. Or head to Hvar Town with its fancy yacht marinas and try fresh seafood at a local restaurant.

Hvar to Korcula
Cruise back to the mainland and then head to Korčula island, which has a good reputation for its history and culture. The island is peaceful with quiet coves and small beaches along the south side. You'll settle into your hotel this evening.

Korcula
Walk through Korčula's Old Town with a local guide in the morning. You'll see views of the mainland and reach the main square where the Cathedral of St. Mark stands out. Visit the Town Museum, Bishop's Palace and its treasury, Town Hall, and the ruins of the house where Marco Polo was born. After lunch, the rest of the day is yours to wander the narrow streets and see churches and palaces.

Korcula to Dubrovnik
Travel to the Pelješac Peninsula's southern side. You'll take a cruise through Mali Ston bay and try traditional Croatian brandy while looking at the natural landscape. Stop at an oyster farm to meet a farmer and learn how oysters are grown and harvested, then have a tasting of fresh shellfish with wine. End the day in Dubrovnik, exploring the old town with a guide past Onofrio's Fountain, Saint Blaise's Church, the cathedral and Franciscan Monastery. Check into Hotel Dubrovnik Palace.

You're free to spend the day however you like in Dubrovnik. If you want, take an optional trip to Kotor in Montenegro, a UNESCO site that's great for photos. Learn about the area's history there. Come back to Dubrovnik for the evening and maybe grab a drink at a wine bar followed by dinner at a waterfront cafe.
