Actual tour and tour director were very good. Three of the four hotels were very musty. If you have allergies or asthma these hotels are not for you. The hotel in kuaia had roaches and bugs in the bathroom. In addition, we paid extra for an oceanfront review and we faced a wall. The free day on the big island and Kuaia had a lack of transportation so we couldn’t go anyplace without running the risk of not being able to get back to the hotel. We wrote to Trafalgar about this and all they would do is give us am10% coupon for another tour. I at least expected a refund for the difference between ocean front and no view for the last hotel.

My wife and I travel all the time. We used Trafalgar to go to Hawaii because of visiting 4 islands. First time we used them because of reputation of many additional charges, excluding additional excursions. For example when we went to Ireland we used CIE tours over Trafalgar and glad we did because all costs were up front. First we did see quite a bit and tour guide was good. Trafalgar, however, combined several Hawaii length tours and we had for majority of trip 46 people with one tour guide which we weren't pleased with. Viking, for example limits a tour guide for 30 people. We went to the Polynesian village in Oahu and Trafalgar charged us for premium package and gave us the cheapest package. We found this out by brochures we picked up. One of our tour members wrote Trafalgar and they reimbursed us but we had to address a letter. We also got the nosebleed seats for the show. Also on our shuttle in they doubled our charge from 44 to 86 on a shared van and would not reimburse for the difference. Interesting we only had to pay a taxi from Polynesian village 22 per person for an hours drive. Overall use Viking or CIE which stand above Trafalgar when it comes to integrity and honesty. My wife and I continue to travel but will probably not use Trafalgar again.

Very disappointed. Check how many free days you have. With the pandemic there was very little we could do. We were disappointed in the hotels, the food and the time spend in the airport prior to flights. A flight that took far less than an hour, we were at the airport 3 hours before the flight. This was the most highly rated coach tour we have had, with the worst experience. Beware, read carefully and do not expect that you will be able to see all you are promised. I realize that COVID is a problem, but if the tour cannot deliver what they advertise, should they not give you the option of canceling.
