Nairobi
Your local safari representative picks you up outside customs at Nairobi International Airport and drives you to your hotel in downtown Nairobi. After checking in, the rest of your day is yours to rest and get acclimated to the time zone.

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
After a full breakfast, you'll drive roughly 5 hours north to Samburu National Reserve. Once you arrive and settle into camp, there's lunch waiting. Later in the afternoon, you head out on your first game drive looking for antelopes, birds, and elephants before heading back for dinner and the night.

Samburu National Reserve
Starting with a big breakfast, you spend the entire day driving through Samburu National Reserve. The landscape shifts from lush shrubs in the north to bushy trees in the south, and you'll watch for elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras moving along the river banks.

Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park
You leave early in the morning for a 4.5 hour drive to Thompson Falls, Kenya's second-largest waterfall and the world-famous equatorial waterfall. You get the chance to stand with one foot in each hemisphere. From there, it's another 2 hours to Lake Nakuru National Park, which draws crowds for its birds and flamingoes. After a guided safari, you return to the lodge for dinner.

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, you drive about 4.5 hours to Masai Mara National Reserve, which has over 90 mammal species and 400 bird species. During July and August, this is where the great migration crosses the Mara River. You'll reach the lodge, grab lunch, and go out for a short safari before evening.

Masai Mara National Reserve
This full day in Masai Mara includes both a morning game drive and a late afternoon game drive when wildlife is most active. You'll have chances to spot the Big Five: lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo.
