Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Kathmandu International Airport and get picked up for transfer to your hotel. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours to walk around this historic city and get your bearings at whatever pace feels right.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

    Following breakfast, you'll take a guided tour through Kathmandu's major sites. Durbar Square comes first with its ancient temples showing off Newari architecture, then it's up to Swoyambhunath Stupa sitting on a hilltop with views across the valley. From there you'll head to Pashupatinath Temple along the Bagmati River before finishing at Boudhanath, one of the world's largest Buddhist stupas.

  3. Day 3

    Kathmandu to Phakding

    An early flight gets you to Lukla Airport, then your trek begins down to Phakding. You'll pass through farmland and Sherpa villages like Chheplung, Ghat, Sano, and Thulo Gumela, spotting shrines and monasteries including Drangdrak Gompa and Pema Choling Gompa along the way with views of Kumbila and Kusum Kanguru peaks.

  4. Day 4

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Trekking continues through hamlets like Zamphute and Tok Tok with Thamserku peak visible. You'll walk through Sherpa villages including Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo, then reach Utche Choling Gompa overlooking the Dudhkoshi River. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the terrain gets steeper past Jorsale village with a dramatic high bridge crossing before Namche Bazaar appears and you get your first real look at Mt. Everest.

  5. Day 5

    Namche Bazaar

    Today stays in Namche Bazaar at 3,420 meters for acclimatization. Walk through the busy market, take casual strolls around the valley to adjust to altitude, and visit the local museum learning about Sherpa customs and traditions while enjoying panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks.

  6. Day 6

    Namche Bazaar to Khumjung

    An acclimatization hike takes you to Everest View Hotel at 3,800 meters where weather permitting you'll see Everest from the world's highest located hotel. Continue over the hill to Khumjung at 3,970 meters, a traditional village at the base of sacred Khumbila mountain with Mani Stones and stupas, home to a monastery holding a reputed yeti scalp.

  7. Day 7

    Khumjung to Tengboche

    You'll descend toward the Dudh Koshi River and cross a suspension bridge through pine, juniper, and birch forests to Debouche at 3,710 meters. Heading uphill past old Mani walls brings you to Tengboche, a significant religious site famous for its active monastery on a ridge with views across the Everest landscape, especially nice in the morning.

  8. Day 8

    Tengboche to Namche Bazaar

    A relaxed six-mile trek heads back to Namche Bazaar winding through quiet forests where you'll pass other trekkers making their own ways along the route.

  9. Day 9

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Your final trekking day follows the Dudh Kosi river down to Lukla, retracing the path you started on.

  10. Day 10

    Lukla to Kathmandu

    Flying back from Lukla gets you to Kathmandu for hotel transfer. The day is open for shopping and picking up gifts or souvenirs. Later in the evening you'll join a farewell gathering to look through trek photos and share stories from the experience.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 18th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 18th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Alpine Club of Himalaya. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Alpine Club of Himalaya will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
