  From the moment I started the booking process I felt very comfortable with my choice of Great Lake Expedition. Roster was very quick to reply to any queries that I had and extremely knowledgeable and informative on all aspects relating to our climb. We met our guide Jackson the night before our climb for a quick run through of kit and arrangements for the next day. He completely put us at ease and made us feel very comfortable when we found out he had summited 500 times!!! Who better to take us to the top of Kilimanjaro. Jackson's team of men were nothing short of incredible and over the 7 nights and 8 days of our Great Lake Expedition Lemosho route looked after us so very very well !! Each and every one of the team of 23 worked extremely hard. There are many things that I will never forget about our trip but a couple of them which will always stand out….. the smiles we received from the ‘team ‘ as they passed us each day having packed up the camp, rushing onwards to have everything ready for us when we arrived at our new destination ! The songs !!! Oh the songs … and the dancing ! Red bull and more songs at a point when we were all feeling particularly low on summit night. The wonderful kindness ! Super John had the most incredible voice and was always striving to keep us safe. He was the most amazing assistant guide, as was Robert, the most wonderful smile! Both assistant guides were incredibly experienced and knowledgable. It was obvious that they had the best mentor in Jackson who was clearly loved and respected by his ‘team’. I am sure that Super John and Robert will be leading their own teams very soon. I cannot recommend Great Lake Expedition enough. If you are considering climbing mighty Kilimanjaro.

  I booked the 8-day Lemosho Route with Great Lake Expedition and it far exceeded my expectations. The entire team was professional, personable and prioritized the groups' safety on the mountain. Our guides, Muntari and John, were hard-working, cheerful and extremely knowledgeable. They truly created a sense of family among our group and kept spirits high, even during a tough summit attempt. A big shoutout to our chef, Yonathan, for the delicious food and to the incredible team of porters for metaphorically carrying us up the mountain. As a young solo female traveller, I cannot recommend Great Lake Expedition enough. An experience of a lifetime!

  Together with a companion, I recently finished the Great Lake Expedition-organized 8-days Kilimanjaro Lemosho trek. The crew was outstanding! The team's outstanding support from the beginning to the end made sure our excursion went smoothly and successfully. Eighty people made up our hardworking team: Yonathan (chef), Amiry (assistant guide), Ombeni (guide), and porters. It was quite amazing how well they all worked together to transport supplies, food, and equipment so we could reach the summit. Their commitment and cooperation made the trip not only possible but also genuinely unforgettable. I am incredibly grateful to the staff for making this journey smooth and remarkable. I heartily endorse them for any Tanzanian journey, including your Kilimanjaro trek.

  We had about Great Lake Expedition from our friend who did safari with them in 2023 and we wanted to support Woman owned business, we did 8 days Lemosho route trek, this was one of the most incredible experience of my life we were group of four we had a team 19, porters, Guides and chef this team made our trip a success we couldn't have made it without their help. They were all happy, supportive, professional and they spoke positive about the company, guides told us about the whole history about Tanzania and Moshi in Particular they had a massive knowledge about flora and fauna. I can say every element from the Airport pickup to the trek everything was carefully planned and organized. Roster were very professional and responsive. I definitely recommend Great Lake Expedition.

  Great Lake Expedition's 8-day Lemosho trip was an incredible experience from beginning to end, and it is deserving of more than five stars! From the verdant rainforest to the breathtaking peak views, the journey was full of breathtaking scenery, and the team's outstanding support made every step delightful. The porters and chefs made sure we were comfortable with their excellent service and delectable meals, and the guides were very informed, inspiring, and attentive. A difficult climb was transformed into a life-altering experience by Great Lake Expedition's meticulous attention to detail and sincere concern. I would give them ten stars if I could.

  Great Lake Expedition provided our group with the experience of a lifetime during our 8 day Lemosho-Western Breach trek. Robert and the guides were incredibly patient and knowledgeable and adjusted to the various paces of our group - with their help our entire group of 13 was able to summit successfully. With Kili’s 8 day tour, we not only got to travel at an excellent pace and see amazing scenery, we all got to really enjoy our summit without the difficulties that often accompany this ascent. The porters were superhuman in their efforts and the food prepared by Yonath was nothing short of spectacular . Beyond the incredible staff, Great Lake Expedition provided us with first-rate service every step of the way, from our initial meetup in the hotel to discuss our itinerary, to the quality equipment and tents they supplied. I can’t recommend them strongly enough to anyone thinking about tackling Kilimanjaro.

  We had a group of 3 people did the Lemosho route 8 days with Great Lake Expedition team. Before we arrived at Moshi, Great Lake Expedition team was always patiently answering our queries online (always quick response) which helped us to do the preparation. Great Lake Expedition team also checked whether we had sufficient gears before we started climbing and provided free gears for us when needed. Then we’ve been assigned with the best supporting team to climb the mountain. Our guides Robert were also really experienced and always taking care of us when we were walking. We definitely could not make it to the top without them (also joking with each other all the time haha). Then the chef Yohaneth, who has many years’ experiences working in hotel, provided beyond our expectation meals everyday to us on the mountain The whole trekking was an experience which we will remember for the whole life. And Great Lake Expedition team are definitely the most important part in our memories (everyone cried when leaving on Day 8 haha). Fully recommending Great Lake Expedition to all of you who wanted to climb Kili!

  A truly wonderful and memorable trip. The trek was brilliant, but it was the Great Lake Expedition team that made the experience truly exceptional. Great Lake Expedition were incredibly responsive from the point of booking and could not have been more helpful and welcoming throughout the 8 days on the mountain. The guides and porters were exceptional from start to finish - ensuring that everyone enjoyed the experience as much as possible (but not at the expense of our health and safety, which was taken very seriously).   A once in a lifetime experience, we will never forget. We came with the intend to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and left with an unforgettable experience that was not only about achieving our goal, but much more about the people who created these memories. Thank you, Muntali and his team for carrying everything we needed, setting up the camp and always smiling - you have our utmost respect and we were more than thankful to have you. Thank you, John, for cooking the most delicious meals at an altitude of 3000m and above and for always keeping us properly fueled to conquer the mountain. Thank you, for pushing us all the way to the top, for all the motivation, the professionalism, the dance moves and sharing your knowledge on people, nature and the area with us.   This was my first trip to Tanzania and I cannot recommend coming to this country and utilizing Great lake expedition enough. From picking us up at the airport, shuttling us around Moshi, and organizing our entire trek up the mountain they had us fully taken care of. We did the 8 day Lemosho route and had a group of 12. All 12 people were fully taken care of and hit their goal on our trip. The food was so delicious and our accommodations , tents, and gear that was rented was of the highest quality. Our guides made sure everyone was safe the entire time but also took the time to teach us Swahili, educate us on Tanzanian culture, and teach us more about the wildlife and going up the mountain. Our lead guides all had dozens (if not hundreds) of summits and were well equipped for any situation. I don’t often write reviews but I will go out fully on a limb to say this is one of the best companies and travel experiences out there. Don’t hesitate and compare with other companies just go straight with Great Lake Expedition and finally come see one of the best countries on earth without any stress or hesitation. 10/10 review.
