Athens to Nafplio
You'll leave Athens early and stop at the Corinth Canal for photos before continuing through the Argolis valley. Once you reach Mycenae, your guide will take you through the ancient citadel, showing you the Treasury of Atreus (also known as Agamemnon's tomb) and the famous Lions' Gate. After grabbing lunch in town, you'll head to Nafplio for the rest of the day. There you can visit the Venetian fortress of Palamidi or take a swim in the water, and then walk around to see the Old Mosque and the harbor fortress. You'll stay overnight in Nafplio (60°F/16°C typical).

Nafplio to Epidaurus to Athens
Your morning is free to wander around Nafplio's old city on your own, checking out the neoclassic architecture and the mix of Frankish, Venetian, and Ottoman structures throughout the steep streets. Around midday you'll drive to Epidaurus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the healing god Asclepius was said to be born. Your tour includes the famous theater known for its acoustics, the ancient stadium, what's left of the gymnasium, the Temple of Artemis, the Tholos with its underground passages, and the Avaton healing chamber. You'll head back to Athens later in the afternoon (62°F/17°C typical).
