Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi to Samburu
Your driver picks you up from your Nairobi hotel or airport at 7:30 AM and heads north toward Samburu. The drive takes you through Kenya's highlands where you'll see tea and coffee plantations, then transitions into the semi-arid desert landscape of northern Kenya. By afternoon you'll do some game viewing before checking in at your lodge for the evening.

Landmarks Samburu Game Reserve - Day 2
Samburu
This is a full day of game viewing at Samburu reserve. The Ewaso Nyiro River runs through the park and that's where most of the wildlife concentrates, since water is scarce in this semi-desert environment. If you want to see more, you can combine this with nearby Buffalo Springs and Shaba reserves on the same day.

Samburu to Mount Kenya
Start with an early morning game drive at Samburu, then depart for the Mount Kenya region which is cooler and higher in elevation. You'll arrive at Sweetwaters Tented Camp where there's time to relax. Game viewing drives are available at the adjacent Ol Pejeta sanctuary, known for elephants, rhinos, and chimpanzees if you want to get out again.

Mount Kenya to Aberdares
You have optional activities in the morning around Mount Kenya, then head to Aberdares National Park. After that, transfer to your tree hotel where you'll spend the night watching game from your cabin's balcony. The park is good for bird watching, game viewing, and photography.

Landmarks Aberdare National Park - Day 5
Aberdares to Lake Nakuru
Head back to Aberdare Country Club, then continue on to Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the way, stop to see Thomson Falls at Nyahururu. The drive takes you through farming country with views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. In the afternoon, you'll do game viewing and bird watching at the lake, which has hundreds of thousands of flamingos plus black and white rhinos.
