- RSRonald· February 27th, 2025only one thing i would like them to add. It is important to know everyone's name. so make the signup sheet with the first column first name, second last, etc. Then - cover all but the first name column - and send the image to all. would make learning all the names super easyShow moreTrip date: February 2025

- MWmartha· March 11th, 2020way way too rushed. NO time for farewells on final morning, especially when breakfast being packed in bus at 6:45....NO TIME TO EAT the breakfast we paid for. if they want to shove off that early, provide grab and go bags for participants. Final night we arrived at that hostel way after dark after a long day (5+ hours) of driving. Not a nice place for a final group get together. then the next morning we RAN out by 6:45 am. The things they took us to were good and gave us a good overview of the N. IslandShow moreFlying Kiwi commented on this reviewThanks for the feedback Martha and we are sorry to see you felt rushed on that last day but pleased you enjoyed the rest of the North Island. We are very concerned about your comments of not having time to eat as mealtimes are a fun and integral part... Show moreTrip date: February 2020

Amador
Asked on March 23rd, 2025Is there availability for solo travelers on the upcoming tours?
- Flying KiwiOperator•Written March 2025
While some tours may not have space, there are often options available depending on the dates.

Vicki
Asked on January 30th, 2025What are the accommodation options available during the tour?
- Flying KiwiOperator•Written February 2025
The accommodations primarily include tents, but cabins are available at select locations. You can inquire about upgrades through your Guide or independently contact the campsites.
- J
Jan
Asked on January 10th, 2025Could you kindly advise what the accommodation in tents would look like? A solo traveler will have a tent for themselves? What type of equipment should the travelers bring? Could you share photos of the camp?
- Flying KiwiOperator•Written January 2025
All tickets include accommodation in a three-person tent, which will be shared by two people. Solo travellers will be paired with another solo traveller of the same gender, or we do offer upgrades to a solo tent if preferred. Travellers need to bring their own sleeping bags, or they can rent one from us, and a pillow (we recommend an inflatable pillow or a pillow case that can be stuffed with a coat for ease of travel).
- J
Jan
Traveler•Written January 2025Could you please send me some pictures of the three-person tent just to give me a more detailed idea of what to expect. How much would be the upgrade to a solo tent?
- J
Jan
Traveler•Written January 2025I just saw that there is also an upgrade to a cabin possible. How much would this be for a solo traveller?
- Flying KiwiOperator•Written January 2025
In regards to Cabin upgrades, the price varies depending on what departure you are booked on to as we need to request quotes from each campsite and it is based on their availaiblity at the time. We don't request Cabin quotes until someone is confirmed on a tour. The Single Tent cost, there should be an option through Tour Radar to select a single tent upgrade and this will show you the cost for the departure you're interested in!

Asked on October 29th, 2024If my relative and myself (2 people) only want cabin accommodation for the whole trip instead of staying in a tent is this possible? How much would it cost if we were in cabin accommodation for the whole tour?
- Flying KiwiOperator•Written October 2024
With upgrades we do reach out to each accommodation for availability so we cannot guarantee a cabin for the entire time. The price is based on the accommodations rates so we would not know the total until we hear back from all of them. Once you book on the tour, we can begin this process.
- D
Dale
Traveler•Written October 2024Linda who I will be travelling with says she would only want to stay in a cabin, not a tent for the whole trip, so I will not be able to book this.
