Itinerary
- Day 1
Iquitos to Pacaya Samiria
A driver picks you up at Iquitos airport for the 1.5-hour road transfer to Nauta port. From there you'll board boats heading down the river, and depending on whether it's rainy season, you might stop at Casual Fundo along the way. By late afternoon you'll reach Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge deep in the jungle, where they'll give you a natural fruit juice to settle in. After that comes a guided afternoon session covering rainforest stories and local legends. Once evening hits, you're heading out on a night tour to spot spiders, snakes, frogs, and nocturnal insects.

- Day 2
Pacaya Samiria
You'll start with breakfast, then join a guided walking tour through the jungle to see the range of plants and animals around you. The guide covers medicinal plants and tropical fruits like Camu Camu and Aguaje. After returning to the lodge for traditional local lunch, you'll take a boat out into Pacaya Samiria National Reserve in the afternoon to look for pink dolphins and sloths. There's also a chance to fish for piranhas before heading back to the lodge.

- Day 3
Pacaya Samiria to Iquitos
After breakfast, you're heading out one last time on the Maranon River to Cocha Shiriyacu (weather and fishing conditions permitting). You'll visit the San Jorge community and their craft center, where you can buy local handicrafts. From there it's back to the lodge for lunch, then the transfer back into Iquitos for your departure.
