Kathmandu
You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After you settle in and freshen up, there's a welcome dinner with traditional Nepalese food and a cultural program showing local customs and traditions.

Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
An early morning flight takes you from Kathmandu to Lukla in 35 minutes, with views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks including Mount Everest from the plane. From Lukla, you'll trek for about 4 hours down to Phakding village, crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River and passing Buddhist Mani walls along the way.

- Day 3
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
This day involves about 6 hours of trekking through pine and rhododendron forests with views of Mount Thamserku and Himalayan waterfalls. You'll enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo village and continue up to Namche Bazaar, the main Sherpa settlement in the Khumbu region and your gateway to the Everest area.

Namche Bazaar
You'll spend the day acclimatizing to the higher altitude here in Namche. Check out the Sherpa Museum to learn about local culture, and if you arrive on a Saturday, the colorful weekly market has local goods and handicrafts. There's also an optional hike to Everest View Hotel if you want some views of Mount Everest from a different angle.

Namche Bazaar to Dole
After breakfast, you'll trek 5 to 6 hours to Dole village through alpine scenery. The route takes you past Sherpa farms and villages with views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam surrounding you as you walk.

Dole to Gokyo
You'll head to Gokyo by crossing over the ridge into Gokyo valley, known locally as the land of Yeti. The trek takes you through beautiful terrain to Gokyo village where you'll stay in a guest house for the night.

Gokyo
About 4 hours of trekking gets you to the Gokyo guest house by midday, situated on the third of three sacred lakes. After lunch you'll explore the lake area surrounded by glaciers. You can see Mount Cho-Oyu (the sixth highest mountain in the world) and enjoy views from the westernmost point of the Khumbu region.

- Day 8
Gokyo Ri
Start before dawn to reach Gokyo Ri for sunrise over the Eastern Himalayas. Watch Mount Everest turn red in the morning light and see how the snow colors shift as the day progresses. You'll explore the sacred lakes with mountain reflections in the water and get views of the massive Ngazumpa Glacier from different vantage points.

Gokyo to Mongla
You'll begin the trek back toward Lukla on an alternative route through Mongla hill, a small settlement you'll reach after about 7 hours of walking. The path goes through forests of silver fir, pine, rhododendrons, and other mountain trees while you hear bird calls and see wildflowers along the way.

Mongla to Jorsalle
You'll trek through small villages on a 7 to 8 hour day to reach Jorsalle. The scenic route helps make the longer trekking day feel more manageable with its natural beauty and interesting stops along the way.

Jorsalle to Lukla
A 7 to 8 hour trek brings you back to Lukla airport, passing through areas where other trekkers on the Everest Base Camp route also come through. When you arrive in the evening, confirm your morning flight back to Kathmandu before settling in for the night.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Your morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu takes about an hour, though flight times can shift due to mountain weather. Once you arrive, you'll head to your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax with a hot bath, look for souvenirs, or explore on your own. This day acts as a buffer in case weather delays your flight.

Kathmandu

That evening, join a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant where you can share stories from your Gokyo Trek and enjoy local food.
