Kathmandu
You'll arrive in Kathmandu and connect with your Sherpa Expedition representative at the airport. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel in Thamel, the main tourist area where you'll spend the night and get oriented.

Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
Take a scenic 30 to 40-minute flight to Tenzing-Hilary Airport in Lukla. You'll start trekking from there, following the trail along the Dudh Koshi River down to the village of Phakding for your first night on the trail.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
The trek continues through villages like Toc-Toc, Benkar, and Monjo with several river crossings. You'll pass through the Sagarmatha National Park gateway and then tackle a steep climb to reach Namche Bazaar, a modern town packed with restaurants, hotels, and supplies.

Namche Bazaar
Today is for acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar. You can trek to Thame or visit Khunde, explore the town and check out the weekly market (Friday evening and Saturday morning), or head to the Tourist Visitor Center near park headquarters to learn about local wildlife and mountaineering history.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Follow the Dudh Kosi River with stunning mountain views as you climb to Tengboche Village at 3,860 meters. The famous monastery here has intricate Tibetan wall hangings, a 6-meter Buddha statue, and traditional instruments. You'll join the evening prayer ceremony at the monastery.

Tengboche to Dingboche
Trek toward Dingboche, passing through Somare and Orsho. You'll take the left trail to Pheriche, cross a bridge, then face a steep final push to reach Dingboche at 4,410 meters. The village sits among stone-walled fields with several good lodges for the night.

Dingboche
Spend the day acclimatizing in Dingboche, a popular spot for hikers heading toward Everest and Island Peak. You can trek to Nagarjuna Hill or Chukhung for views of Makalu and Ama Dablam, or tackle the tougher climb up Nangkartshang Peak at 5,100 meters if you're feeling strong.

Dingboche to Gorakshep
Head to Dughla and cross steep moraine at the Khumbu Glacier base over boulder fields. Continue climbing to Chupki Lhara, a memorial for climbers Scott Fischer and Babu Chiri Sherpa. You'll keep ascending along the glacier moraine with views of Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and other massive peaks.

Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep
Trek higher past Gorakshep Lake and a memorial for Indian mountaineers. You'll traverse rocks, moraine, and streams to reach Everest Base Camp where mountaineer tents dot the landscape. The views of Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori are incredible. After exploring, you'll head back to Gorakshep for the night.

Gorakshep to Kala Patthar to Pangboche
Start before dawn when temperatures range from -10 to -14°C, so bring extra layers for the wind. Trek up to Kala Patthar where you'll see Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse to the east, with Mount Everest coming into view as you reach the summit. The 360-degree views and Everest's face make for great photography. Then descend to Pangboche for the night.

Pangboche to Namche Bazaar
Trek downhill through oak and juniper forests, crossing the Dudh Koshi River and following the gorge through pines. Watch for colorful pheasants and Himalayan Thar mountain goats. You'll pass Sanasa with good views of Ama Dablam and other peaks before arriving back at Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Trek back to Phakding on your final day on the trail. You'll reach Lukla with time to explore the village and surrounding area. Take time to review photos, catch up with loved ones, and celebrate finishing the trek with drinks and good company.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Catch an early flight back to Kathmandu with a new perspective on the mountains below. Once you arrive, there's time for last-minute souvenir shopping or meeting up with friends. Spend your final evening walking through Thamel's winding streets and relaxing at a cafe or bar with your guides available to point you toward shops and local spots.

Kathmandu Departure
A Sherpa Expedition representative will pick you up and drive you to the airport at least three hours before your flight. Reflect on your Himalayan adventure as you prepare for your journey home.
