Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
Your Ancient Egypt Tours representative meets you at the airport terminal with a sign and takes you to your private air-conditioned vehicle for the drive to your hotel. Check-in happens at 14:00. If you arrive before then, you can relax in the hotel lobby or arrange an extra night for immediate access to your room.

- Day 2
Cairo to Aswan
After breakfast at your hotel, your personal guide takes you to Giza Plateau for the day. You'll see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, Khafre's pyramid, the pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. The Valley Temple gives you a chance to photograph all three pyramids with the Cairo skyline behind them. Later, you head to the Egyptian Museum to walk through thousands of pharaonic artifacts, including King Tutankhamun's golden treasures. By evening, you transfer to the train station for your overnight Sleeper train heading to Aswan.

Aswan
Wake up and have breakfast on the train before reaching Aswan. Your guide meets you and transfers you to your cruise. During the day, you check out the High Dam, built between 1960 and 1970, then visit the Unfinished Obelisk in the stone quarries. Later, you sail by felucca (Egyptian sailboat) to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island to explore the Temple of Isis and its monuments.

Aswan to Luxor
After breakfast at your hotel, you head to Aswan train station for the train to Luxor. Once you arrive, your guide starts with Karnak Temple complex on Luxor's East Bank, the largest place of worship ever built. You then cross to the West Bank to see Queen Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple at Deir el-Bahari and explore the Valley of the Kings, visiting 3 tombs including King Tutankhamun's. The Colossi of Memnon are also on your route. Lunch happens during your tour, and by evening you transfer to the train station for your overnight Sleeper train back to Cairo.

- Day 5
Cairo
Have breakfast on the train before arriving in Cairo. Your guide takes you through Coptic Cairo to see the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, Church of St. Barbara, Church of St. Sergius, Ben Ezra synagogue, the Amr Ibn El-Aas Mosque (the first mosque built in Egypt), and the Church of Simon the Tanner. A warm lunch at a high-quality restaurant comes next, followed by a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization near Old Cairo. The museum covers Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, Islamic and modern periods, including the royal mummies hall.

Cairo to Alexandria
Your representative picks you up after breakfast for the drive to Alexandria, about 210 kilometers away. In Alexandria, you see Montazah Palace and Gardens with its 317 acres of landscaped grounds, and Pompey's Pillar built to honor Emperor Diocletian. You explore the Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery with three levels carved into rock, and drive along the Cornish to see the city, crossing the Stanley Bridge landmark. Qaitbay Citadel sits on the site of the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria, and you finish with a visit to the new Library of Alexandria before transferring to your hotel.

- Day 7
Memphis - Dahshur
After breakfast, your representative picks you up for a tour south of Cairo. You see the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world's oldest major stone structure built around 2630 BC during the 3rd Dynasty, along with the Museum of Imhotep and the pyramids of Kings Titi and Unas. Lunch at a local restaurant in Giza comes next, then you continue to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt for over 3000 years, to see the alabaster sphinx and Statue of Ramses II. You finish at Dahshur, about 40 km from Cairo, to see the famous Red and Bent Pyramids of King Snefru. Another lunch at a local restaurant happens before you return to your hotel.
