Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

You'll get picked up early from your hotel and fly into Lukla, which is quite the experience with those mountain runways. After meeting your Sherpa team, you'll start walking toward Phakding through pine and cedar forests, following the Dudh Kosi River for about 4 hours. The tea house in Phakding becomes your base for the night, and dinner is included so you can settle in and rest up before things get more challenging.

  2. Day 2

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Following breakfast, you'll trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar over 5 to 6 hours. The route takes you across the Dudh Kosi River and up through Monjo and Jorsalle, with a steep section through blue pine forest near Hillary Bridge. Namche Bazaar itself is the real hub of the region, so you'll have time to check your gear and grab dinner. If you're feeling up for it, there's optional nightlife in town, though most people are pretty tired by evening.

    • Cross Hillary Bridge

  3. Day 3

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Today's a shorter day at 4 to 5 hours from Namche to Tengboche, but the views make up for it. You'll walk through rhododendron forests past mani walls and Chorten stupas, with peaks like Thamserku, Kantega, and Ama-Dablam coming into view. Mount Everest appears in the distance too. Lunch happens at Phunge Thanka, then after crossing a suspension bridge, you'll climb for another 90 minutes to reach Tengboche. The monastery there is the largest in the Khumbu region, so try to catch evening prayers if you're not too worn out.

  4. Day 4

    Tengboche to Dingboche

There's an optional early monastery visit for prayer if you want to wake up for it. After breakfast with mountain views, you'll head through rhododendron forest toward Deboche, cross an exciting bridge over the Imja Khola, and move toward Pangboche. Lunch is at Somare village, then the path flattens out along the valley wall before you reach Dingboche by late afternoon. This is a bit of an easier day to help your body adjust to the altitude.

Dughla is where you can pause for lunch or just a rest before the tougher climb toward Labuche. From there, it's about 1 hour through the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Labuche, which is marked by stone monuments for fallen climbers. The peaks around you now include Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Labuche Peak.

Along the route you'll pass memorials for Indian Army mountaineers and navigate rocky terrain and moraine in the thin high-altitude air. Base Camp itself sits in stark, gray surroundings, but the peaks visible from there like Khumbuste, Nuptse, and Pumori are pretty special. You'll head back down to Gorak Shep for the night since staying at Base Camp isn't really an option.

After heading back to Gorak Shep for breakfast, you'll take a helicopter flight back to Lukla with close-up mountain views the whole way. Just Completed the Mardi Himal Trek with Sherpa Expeditions, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. Despite it being the monsoon season, the trek was absolutely incredible — lush landscapes, refreshing air, and surprisingly clear views on several days! Our guide, Pemba, was outstanding. He was not only knowledgeable and professional but also kind, patient, and very attentive to our needs throughout the journey. He kept the mood positive, shared stories and insights about the region, and always made sure we felt safe and comfortable. One of the biggest surprises was catching some breathtaking views of the mountains, even during this rainy season. On clear days, the scenes were magical — like something out of a dream. The whole experience was well-organized from start to finish, and the support from the Sherpa Expeditions team was top-notch. Thank you to Pemba and the entire team for making this trek so memorable. Highly recommended — rain or shine!

I recently completed the 7-day Annapurna Base Camp trek with Wongdi Sherpa as our guide, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable adventure. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally and smoothly by the company. Wongdi Sherpa was an exceptional guide—knowledgeable, caring, and incredibly experienced. He made sure we were always safe, comfortable, and well-informed about the local culture, wildlife, and geography. The entire team was extremely friendly, supportive, and motivated throughout the trek, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the challenging journey much more enjoyable. Their hospitality and positive attitude truly enhanced the whole experience. The company’s organization was top-notch, with great attention to detail in logistics, accommodation, and meals. I felt well taken care of every step of the way. I highly recommend this company and especially Wongdi Sherpa for anyone planning to trek Annapurna Base Camp. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience made even better by such an amazing team! Thank you to Wongdi Sherpa and the entire crew for making this trek so memorable!
