Arrival in Kathmandu
A staff member from Sherpa Expedition Teams will meet you at Kathmandu airport and drive you to your hotel in Thamel, the main tourist area. It's a straightforward transfer to get you settled in for the night.

Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
You'll catch an early morning flight from Kathmandu that takes about 30 to 40 minutes to reach Tenzing-Hilary Airport in Lukla. After landing, the trek begins as you walk along the Dudh Koshi River toward Phakding for your first night on the trail.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
This is an easier day on the trail crossing multiple bridges over the Dudh Kosi River. You'll pass through small villages like Toc-Toc, Benkar, and Monjo before entering Sagarmatha National Park. By evening you reach Namche Bazaar, a busy hub with restaurants, shops, and services.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day
You'll stay in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. Options include trekking to Thame, visiting Khunde village, checking out the weekly market on Friday evening and Saturday morning, or stopping by the Tourist Visitor Center to learn about Everest climbers and local wildlife.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Following the glacial Dudh Kosi River with its icy waters, you'll gradually climb to Tengboche Village at 3,860m/12,664 feet. The monastery there is known for wall hangings, a large Buddha statue, Tibetan instruments, and colorful robes. Evening prayers at the monastery are available to join.

Tengboche to Dingboche
A less demanding day trekking through Somare at 4,010m/13,156 feet and Orsho. You'll take the left trail toward Pheriche, cross a bridge, then climb a steep hill to Dingboche Village at 4,410m/14,469 feet for the night.

Dingboche to Gorak Shep
Starting from Dughla, you'll cross a steep moraine covered with boulders at the base of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Chupki Lhara, a memorial site for mountaineers Scott Fischer and Babu Chiri Sherpa. As you trek the glacier moraine, massive peaks including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal come into view.

Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp and Return
You'll trek to higher elevations passing Gorakshep Lake and a memorial for Indian mountaineers who died on Everest. The air gets thinner and the trail becomes tougher. After reaching Everest Base Camp at 5,364m/17,598 feet with its colorful tent city and views of surrounding peaks, you'll return to Gorak Shep for rest.

Landmarks Gorakshep Lake Everest Base Camp - Day 9
Kala Patthar and Return to Pheriche
Starting before dawn in temperatures around -10 to -14°C/14 to 7°F, you'll head to Kala Patthar. Winds can be strong up here. From the summit you'll see Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse, with Mount Everest coming into view. The 360-degree views from the top are incredible, with Everest right in front. Later you descend to Pheriche.

Landmarks Kala Patthar Mount Everest - Day 10
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Heading downhill through a rhododendron forest, you'll reach Tengboche with its famous Buddhist monastery and mountain views. After that, continue down to Phunki Thenga at 3,250m/10,663 feet on the Imja Khola river banks, then trek through Sanasa back to Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Your final trekking day before heading to Lukla. There's time in the afternoon to relax, shower, and reflect on what you've accomplished. In the evening, the group celebrates with drinks and music.

Lukla to Kathmandu
An early morning flight takes you from Lukla back to Kathmandu after your 12-day trek. Once you arrive, you can rest or visit places you didn't see on arrival. Your guides continue to help with souvenir shopping or showing you around the city.

Departure from Kathmandu
Your Nepal trek comes to an end today. A Sherpa Expedition Teams representative will pick you up at least three hours before your flight home. Take time to think back on your Himalayan adventure before heading to the airport.
