Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
Your guide will meet you at Cusco airport and take you to your hotel. Spend the morning letting your body adjust to the altitude, which sits around 11,150 feet. In the afternoon, join a city tour that covers the Cathedral and the Koricancha Temple of the Sun, then head out to see some nearby ruins including Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and the Sacsayhuaman Fortress.

- Day 2
Rainbow Mountain
Get picked up early at 4:30 am for the full-day Rainbow Mountain trip. You'll drive about 2 hours to Cusipata where breakfast is waiting, then another hour to the trailhead. The walk takes roughly 1.5 hours on rolling terrain where you'll see glaciers, alpacas, and llamas before reaching Vinicunca mountain. The return hike is about 1 hour, after which you'll have lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Cusco.

Next, you'll head to the Pisac Indian market where you can shop with local vendors. After a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, the tour finishes at the Ollantaytambo Fortress.

Machu Picchu
Leave early from Ollantaytambo train station on either the Expedition or Voyager Class train toward Aguas Calientes, a ride that takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. From there, take buses up to Machu Picchu for a guided tour lasting 2 hours 30 minutes that covers the Intihuatana, the Palace of the Incas, and the Three Windows. Later you can walk around Aguas Calientes for shopping, then catch the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your Cusco hotel.
