Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll land at Cairo International Airport where your tour coordinator and driver meet you at arrivals. They'll help you through the airport process and drive you to your hotel. Before you settle in for the night, you'll get a briefing about what's coming up tomorrow so you know what to expect.

- Day 2
Saqqara
After breakfast, your Egyptologist guide joins you for a full day. Head west across the Nile to Giza to see the three main pyramids built for Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, plus the queens' pyramids and the Great Sphinx. From there you'll go to Saqqara's ancient necropolis where you can walk through royal and nonroyal tombs, mastabas, and the Serapeum. You'll descend into tunnels to see the sarcophagi of sacred Apis bulls and get a sense of how tomb and pyramid building evolved across different dynasties.

- Day 3
Cairo
Start at the Egyptian Museum where over 120,000 artifacts are on display, including the complete Tutankhamen collection. Your guide highlights key pieces, then you have time to explore on your own. Lunch is at Abu Tarek, a multi-story restaurant known for Koshary, an Egyptian staple. Afterward, walk the walls that once protected ancient Cairo from the Crusaders, visit the Citadel of Saladin, and climb up to the Mohamed Ali Mosque for views and insights into Islamic Egypt. Later, wander Khan El Khalili Bazaar's narrow alleyways for local items, then stroll El-Moez Street, Cairo's oldest pedestrian-only street and an open-air showcase of Islamic architecture.

Coptic Cairo
This day focuses on Coptic Cairo where you'll visit multiple Coptic churches to experience Egyptian Coptic history and culture. You'll also have the chance to see the Ben Ezra synagogue, traditionally believed to be where baby Moses was found in the water.

- Day 5
Cairo to Aswan
Catch an early flight to Aswan. Once there, check out the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960s to control Nile flooding and generate electricity. Take a water taxi to Philae Temple, which was relocated to protect it from the dam's flooding. You'll enjoy a relaxing felucca boat ride through Aswan with scenic Nile views and a glimpse of a Nubian village. Then board your cruise ship for your 3-night stay.

Edfu
Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, an unusual double temple honoring the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. Look at ancient engravings that some think show early medical and surgical instruments. Return to your cruise and sail north to the Edfu Temple between Aswan and Luxor. This is Egypt's tallest and best-preserved temple, built to honor Horus and the pharaoh. Explore it, then head back to your cruise ship traveling toward Luxor.

Luxor
You'll arrive in Luxor, site of ancient Thebes and holder of roughly seventy percent of Egypt's antiquities. Start on the East Bank with Karnak Temple, a massive 200-acre complex honoring Amun-Ra and several other gods. See remnants of the sphinx avenue that once connected Karnak to Luxor Temple. Then explore Luxor Temple, one of the most intact temples with numerous statues, hieroglyphs, and rooms. Return to your cruise for a relaxing evening.

- Day 8
Luxor
After saying goodbye to cruise mates, head to the West Bank of the Nile for final Luxor explorations. Visit the Valley of the Kings, designed to hide royal burial places from dynasties 18 through 20, and enter several tombs including Tutankhamen's. Next is the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, an impressive structure built into the cliffs and modeled after Mentuhotep's temple but larger in scale. See the Colossi of Memnon, two nearly 60-foot-tall seated statues of Amenhotep III that once guarded his mortuary temple entrance. Later, fly back to Cairo.

Your final day involves a transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departing flight. You'll head home after exploring Egypt's significant historical sites and natural landscapes throughout the tour.
