Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo
You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport where your wildlife guide meets you. After transferring to Colombo and checking into your hotel, take time to freshen up from your flight. The rest of the day is yours to wander the city on your own, or you can join an optional tour through historic streets and colorful back alleys to see local landmarks. Dinner happens at your hotel.

- Day 2
Yala
Following breakfast, you'll head toward Yala by way of Galle, a UNESCO World Heritage site with colonial buildings and fortified quarters from the region's trade history. Walk through the bohemian streets there, then stop at Handunugoda Tea Estate to see how Virgin White tea gets made and sample over 20 varieties. After that, continue to Yala and settle into your hotel for a relaxed evening.

- Day 3
Yala
Early morning means heading out on your first jeep safari in Yala National Park with your wildlife guide to look for endangered species like sloth bears, elephants, and leopards in their natural habitat. You'll return by mid-morning for breakfast and downtime. Later in the afternoon, you'll go out on a second safari through a different area of the park for more wildlife viewing before heading back for an early night.

Landmarks Yala National Park - Day 4
Yala
Starting at 5:30 AM, you'll do a game drive in Block 1 of Yala National Park focusing on leopard photography and spotting the Sri Lankan leopard subspecies. Back at the hotel by mid-morning for breakfast and free time. At 2:30 PM, you'll head out for your final 3-hour game drive in Block 1, learning about local plants, animals, and ancient civilizations along the way before returning for dinner.

Udawalawe
After breakfast, you'll travel 2 hours to Udawalawe to visit the Elephant Transit Home, where injured and orphaned elephants get rehabilitated for release back into the wild. You'll watch them feed and play, and meet baby Bhanu, an orphaned elephant living there. Following lunch, you'll drive into Udawalawe National Park to spot elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, and various bird species in their natural surroundings.

Deniyaya
You'll travel to the Rainforest Eco Lodge, a sustainable lodge on the edge of Sinharaja Rainforest and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which is Sri Lanka's last lowland rainforest. This area has the highest concentration of plant and animal species found nowhere else. In the evening, you can explore the local surroundings and experience the cooler climate of the rainforest.

- Day 7
Deniyaya
At 5:30 AM, a senior biologist leads you on a 3 to 4 hour guided trek through Sinharaja Rainforest, Sri Lanka's last viable primary tropical rainforest where over 60% of tree species are found nowhere else. You'll see birds, endemic butterflies, reptiles, and amphibians throughout. Back by mid-morning for breakfast and rest, then after lunch you'll do a 3-hour afternoon trek before dinner at the lodge.
