Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Fez

    You'll arrive at Fez Airport where your tour representative will be waiting to meet you. From there, it's a transfer up to your lodge in the mountains. The drive gives you a chance to start taking in the landscape and settling into the rhythm of your trip.

  2. Day 2

    Fez to Azrou to Ain Leuh

    After breakfast, you'll head out by 4-wheel drive to see the Troglodytes of Azrou and Ain Leuh. Then the real adventure begins as you start trekking into the Middle Atlas Mountains. A local will welcome you into a Berber home where you'll experience how people actually live here, and dinner will be home-cooked by your hosts.

  3. Day 3

    Middle Atlas Mountains Trek

    This day takes you through the densest cedar forest at around 6000 feet altitude, traveling by mule caravan. You'll pass through the valley of Ain Leuh and come across Berber villagers in Bou Harch Valley. That night you'll stay with a local family who will prepare your dinner, giving you another chance to connect with the community here.

    Zaouiet to Wiwane Lake Trek

    You'll start your morning trek from Zaouiet village, heading out with a shepherd toward natural springs. Lunch happens under thousand-year-old cedar trees, which is pretty special. After eating, you'll climb toward the Atlas Mountain peaks and end the day camping near Wiwane Lake in the natural setting.

    Your mules are packed and ready as you trek along brooks and natural springs, passing villages that cling to the cliffs. You'll reach Oum Rabia River where you can take a break and swim in the clear water. Lunch is served right on the riverbank under poplar trees, and then you'll camp by the river springs for the night.

    After breakfast in the wilderness, you'll make your way down from the Atlas Mountains toward Fez. On the way, you'll visit the ancient city of Sefrou and the troglodytes' village of B'Halil. Back near Fez, you'll check out the outskirts in the afternoon before heading to your Riad inside the walled city for dinner and the night.

    You'll spend the full day exploring Fez's UNESCO World Heritage Medina with a local guide leading the way. The itinerary includes the Mellah, King's Palace, and Bat'ha Museum of Moroccan Arts. Walking through those medieval twisting alleys, you'll see mosques, shrines, fountains, workshops, and markets. Lunch is typical Fes Tagine at a Moroccan restaurant, then you'll shop in the afternoon and wrap up with a farewell dinner at your hotel.
