  1. Day 1

    Athens to Sparta

Your pickup happens around 8:30 a.m. from your Athens hotel, then you'll drive along the mainland coast toward Peloponnese. The first stop is the Canal of Corinth, where you can see how they cut through the narrow strip of land. After that, you'll head to the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, which has acoustics so good you can hear someone whisper from the stage even from the back rows. By midday, you'll grab lunch in Nafplio, a charming seaside town with a nice harbor feel. In the afternoon, the tour moves to Mycenae where you'll see the Gate of Lions and the tomb of Atreus. From there, you'll spend time in Mystras, a medieval Byzantine town split into upper and lower sections. You can walk through and see the Palace of the Despots, old houses, the Cathedral of Saint Dimitrios, and various monasteries scattered around. Later, you'll head to Monemvassia, a stone-built settlement sitting on a rock right by the water. The narrow cobbled streets and restored buildings make it feel like stepping back in time. After exploring, you'll return to Sparta for your second night.

Later, you can swim or grab lunch in the coastal villages of Stoupa and Kardamili if you want to take it easy. Wonderful tour - our driver Jerry was a true professional, both as a driver and guide, always keeping our comfort in mind . We traversed narrow, hairpin turn roads through the countryside seeing places that tour busses could not reach. Besides the main sites - Olympus, Mycaenae etc, we loved the stops at Mobemvassia

Our guide, Theo, was excellent. 5* The itinerary was comprehensive & incredibly interesting. There was a slight hitch on the hotel booking (double room instead of the twin room that had been booked & confirmed by the company). The assumption that I had made the mistake was a little galling.

Amazing well planned tour in Peloponnese! It was a truly memorable and unique experience and we enjoyed it greatly. Our driver was friendly, very knowledgeable and respectful and the car was always clean. The tour guides were excellent and very knowledgeable and we definitely learned a lot! The hotels you choose for us were delightful, comfortable and clean. The arrangements, the communication and the service by this company was outstanding and would have no hesitation in booking with them again!
