Itinerary
- Day 1
Vientiane to Luang Prabang
You'll arrive in Vientiane and grab a quick city tour if your flight timing works out, then head to Luang Prabang by plane. After you check in, walk through Wat Visoun, Wat Aham, and Wat Mai temples to get a sense of the local religious architecture. From there, climb Mount Phousi in the late afternoon so you can catch the sunset views overlooking the city and the Mekong River below. By evening, you'll browse the Night Market where local artisans sell handmade textiles and crafts.

Luang Prabang
There's an optional early morning slot to watch monks collecting alms, which is a real part of daily life here. After that, you'll check out the city's oldest temples including Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong, known for its low-sweeping roofs. You'll then take a cruise upstream on the Mekong River to see the Pak Ou Caves with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues inside. The trip stops at Ban Xanghai village, where you can see rice wine production, and Ban Phanom, where locals do hand weaving work.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang to Vientiane
Start by visiting the National Museum, which is actually the former Royal Palace and has artifacts showing Lao culture through different periods of rule. You'll also browse the Central Market before flying back to Vientiane. Once there, you'll see several major sites including Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo (the former royal temple), That Luang Stupa, and the Patuxay Monument. Later in the evening, you can watch the sunset by the Mekong River and then explore the nightlife options in the capital.
