Itinerary
- Day 1
Vientiane
You'll get picked up when you arrive and head straight to your hotel in central Vientiane. After dropping your bags off and freshening up, take a walk around the capital to check out the old buildings and colonial architecture scattered throughout the city. By evening, make your way down to the Mekong River to catch the sunset from the water's edge.

- Day 2
Vientiane to Luang Prabang
Start with breakfast, then spend the morning visiting Wat Sisaket to see the thousands of tiny Buddha statues lining the walls, plus Wat Prakeo and That Luang Stupa. Stop by the Patuxay Monument and browse through the Morning Market for antiques and textiles. After lunch, check out the National Museum before heading to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. Once you land, explore the Night Market in the evening and hike up Mount Phousi to watch the sun go down over the city.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
Following breakfast, go on a guided tour of the oldest temples in the area, including Wat Visoun, Wat Aham, Wat Mai, Wat Sene, and Wat Xiengthong with its distinctive sloping roofs. Board a boat heading upstream on the Mekong to take in the surrounding countryside and visit Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues fill the rock chambers. The journey includes stops at Ban Xanghai to try local rice wine and several villages like Ban Xiengmene, Ban Chan, Wat Longkhoun, and Ban Phanom where you can watch artisans doing hand weaving.

- Day 4
Luang Prabang
If you're up for it, join the monks in the early morning as they walk through the streets collecting alms, a tradition that still thrives here in Laos. Later in the morning, head to the National Museum inside the former Royal Palace to see artifacts showing Lao history from the ancient kingdoms through the reign of the last king. Walk through the Central Market, then get transferred to the airport for your departure. If your flight allows extra time, you might have a chance to look around the shopping area before heading out.
