- Sara· July 17th, 2025Salwa at Ancient Egypt Tours went above and beyond to present me with basically a solo tour. Tour guides in Cairo, Alexandria, Kom Ombo and for (Aswan & Luxor) were very knowledgeable, multilingual. Edfu was not so good. Drivers throughout were excellent especially Hamdy who was with me for all of Cairo, Alexandria and transfers (hotels, airport, train stations). Itinerary was perfect considering the heat and my age. Everyone made sure to follow me and my status. The Nile cruise was very relaxing and food/service excellent regardless of meal. In future, i would take the train Cairo to Aswan and fly back Luxor to Cairo... unless you speak arabic. I would also spend more time in Luxor and on the Nile. For me, fewer people in the heat was better for my psyche the "high season" with low temps and huge crowds... Bring cash, convert to Egyptian pounds. Carry Visa preferrably. Be prepared to be hassled by vendors at every site and even in transit on the Nile Make sure you are met at the airportShow more

The food was of poor quality and it was more like a canteen meal than a quality restaurant. Would have much preferred to pay for better restaurant with local foodShow more

Asked on December 18th, 2023Would there be any challenges in immigration (traveling from US as an Indian citizen with already acquired Egypt visa in the passport) and exiting the airport to the hotel? Are we allowed to bring a checkin luggage? Will it be safe throughout the journey? Is there an optional tour to Abu Simbel as well? Is there any additional fee included apart from the listed ones? Will there be an Egyptologist to help us? Is there an option to visit the tomb of Tutankamun? What is the recommended gratuities for the tour guides?
Ancient Egypt ToursOperator•Written December 2023Do you have a USA valid Visa? Yes check-in luggage is allowed. The tour is totally and completely safe. There is an optional tour to Alexandria. The only additional expenses are: Personal expenses, Entry Visa to Egypt, Tipping kitty, International Airfare, Optional Tours. The tour includes an expert Egyptologist guide. You can buy the ticket while you are in the Valley of the Kings and visit Tutankhamen's tomb. Tipping is optional but strongly expected. At the end of each day, you could tip the guide from USD$ 10 to USD$ 15 and the driver from USD$ 5 to USD$ 10. There will be no challenges and we can provide you with an immigration letter.
