Itinerary
- Day 1
Airport to Sigiriya
You'll get picked up at the airport and head toward Sigiriya, stopping at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage along the way. After settling into your hotel, you'll leave around 5 PM to climb Pidurangala Rock and catch the sunset views looking out at Sigiriya Rock, which sits dramatically across the landscape.

Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
An early 6 AM start gets you to Sigiriya Rock before crowds arrive. After climbing and taking in the views, you'll head back for breakfast, then drive to Polonnaruwa. Lunch happens there, followed by time walking through the ancient city's UNESCO archaeological sites. By evening you'll return to Sigiriya for the night.

Sigiriya to Kandy
Following breakfast, you're heading to Kandy with two stops along the way. First comes Dambulla Cave Temple, then a spice garden where you'll see how cinnamon, pepper, and other spices grow. You'll arrive in Kandy by afternoon and check into your hotel there.

Kandy City Tour
This day focuses on Kandy itself. You'll see the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, walk around Kandy Lake, visit a batik factory and wood carving workshop, check out a gem museum, and make your way to the Bahirawakandha Buddha statue. It's a full day of cultural sites and local crafts.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Leaving Kandy, you'll drive toward Nuwara Eliya with a stop at Ambuluwawa Tower in the central highlands for views across the landscape. Then you'll visit a tea factory to see how production works, grab some refreshments while looking out at Ramboda Waterfall, and settle into your Nuwara Eliya hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Start by exploring Nuwara Eliya's British colonial architecture and town center. Later, you'll catch a scenic train from Nanu Oya heading to Ella. The 4-hour journey takes you through tea plantations, forests, and mountain terrain before you check in to your Ella hotel.

Ella
Ella offers several options to fill your day. The town also has cafes and bars worth checking out when you need a break.

You're driving to Yala today with stops at Ravana Waterfall and Buduruwagala Temple along the route. Lunch happens in Yala, after which you'll enter Yala National Park for wildlife viewing. Keep your eyes out for leopards, Asian elephants, sambar deer, crocodiles, buffalo, and plenty of bird species.

This day covers nearby attractions worth the trip. You'll see the Instagram swing at Dalawella Beach, walk through the historic Galle Dutch Fort, and visit a sea turtle hatchery to learn about conservation work for these threatened species.
