Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi/Arusha
You'll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your driver-guide will be waiting. The 45-minute drive takes you to either Moshi or Arusha town, then your guide sits down with you to go through all your climbing gear and make sure you have everything you need. If anything's missing, no problem—you can rent equipment right there.

Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp
Your guide and the mountain support crew meet you at the hotel for a quick briefing before heading to Nalemuru Gate at the northern entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park. After you handle the climbing permits and register with search and rescue, the real trek begins. You'll walk through coniferous forest along the mountain's northern slope toward Simba Camp, covering 8 km with 605 meters of elevation gain over 3-4 hours at a moderate pace.

Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp
After breakfast, you trek from Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp on an easy route that takes about 3 hours and covers 4 km with 855 meters of elevation gain. Once there, you'll have time to rest and look around. Later in the afternoon after lunch and a couple hours of rest, you'll do a short acclimatization hike toward Kikilewa Camp (gaining just 100 meters), then head back down to Second Cave Camp.

Second Cave Camp to Kikilewa Camp
After breakfast you'll trek to Kikilewa Camp where you get a great view of Kibo Volcano if the weather cooperates. This is a lighter day, so after lunch you get to rest and sleep before an evening trek to Mawenzi Tarn Camp. Your guide checks everyone's health after dinner and goes over what to expect for tomorrow's climb.

Landmarks Kibo Volcano Kikilewa Camp - Day 5
Kikilewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
An early start means breakfast before you trek to Mawenzi Tarn Camp at the base of Mawenzi Volcano, Kilimanjaro's second peak. This hike covers 6 km with 680 meters of elevation gain and takes 4-5 hours. After lunch and a two-hour rest, you'll do an acclimatization hike up toward Mawenzi Volcano itself (gaining 200 meters), then return to camp for dinner.

Mawenzi Tarn Camp to School Hut Camp
You'll trek to School Hut Camp as the environment shifts to rocky semi-desert landscape. The route covers 9 km with 390 meters of elevation gain over 5-6 hours and isn't particularly difficult, but you'll want to keep a steady pace to save energy for tonight's summit attempt. When you arrive, rest well, skip any hard activity, and drink plenty of water since you'll be heading to Uhuru Peak tonight.

Landmarks School Hut Camp - Day 7
School Hut Camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Camp
You leave School Hut Camp at night to climb Kilimanjaro's summit, Uhuru Peak. The trek is moderately challenging physically, but altitude is what really tests you. Each pair of climbers gets their own guide watching how you're doing. Once you reach Uhuru Peak, you can go down to the nearest glacier if you want, then rest for two hours at Kibo Camp before starting your descent to Horombo Camp. The full push covers 21 km over 12-14 hours.

- Day 8
Horombo Camp to Marangu Gate
After a warm breakfast, you head down to Marangu Gate at Kilimanjaro National Park's exit. The descent covers 18 km with 1,860 meters of elevation loss, taking 5-6 hours. At the gate, the group comes together to celebrate, sign the guestbook, get your commemorative certificates, and then get transferred back to your hotel.

Landmarks Marangu Gate - Day 9
Moshi/Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport
You'll have breakfast at your hotel, then the option to take a short walk around Moshi town if you want. Later, your transfer takes you to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight home.
