Itinerary
- Day 1
Airport to Sigiriya
You'll get picked up at the airport and head toward Sigiriya, which takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes. Along the way, there's a stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you can get close to the elephants and spend some time with them. After checking into your hotel, the rest of your day is open to relax and settle in. Later in the evening, you'll climb Pidurangala rock to catch views of Sigiriya and watch the sunset from up there.

Dambulla - Kandy
Starting early around 6:00 AM, you'll head up to Sigiriya rock fortress to see the sunrise over this UNESCO-listed ancient site with its impressive frescoes. Back at the hotel after breakfast, you'll then transfer to Kandy, which is 2 hours and 30 minutes away. The route includes a stop at the Golden Cave Temple in Dambulla where you can walk through over 150 Buddha statues and see Buddhist murals. Before arriving in Kandy, you'll visit a spice garden to try some of Sri Lanka's spices like cinnamon, pepper, and cardamom.

Nuwaraeliya
Breakfast happens at 9:00 AM, and then you'll spend the day checking out Kandy city. You'll see the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, wander around Kandy lake, and stop by a batik factory, wood carving shop, and gem museum. After lunch, you'll drive to Nuwaraeliya, which takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. On the way, there's a stop at Ambuluwava tea factory to see how tea gets made, plus you'll see Ramboda Waterfall and grab a refreshment there.

Ella (by scenic train)
You'll have breakfast at 9:00 AM and then explore Nuwaraeliya, known locally as 'The Little England' because of its British-style architecture. Visit Sitta Amman temple, then head to Nanu Oya railway station. The 4-hour train ride to Ella offers scenic views of tea plantations, forests, and mountains the whole way. Your driver will be waiting when you arrive and will drive you to your Ella hotel.

- Day 5
Ella
Wake up early if you want to catch the sunrise in Ella. Breakfast is at 9:00 AM, then you'll have the day to explore this mountain town and do whatever interests you. You could climb Little Adam's Peak for sunrise or sunset views, walk along the railway track to Nine Arches Bridge, or take a swim at Ravana Falls. The town itself has a busy feel with lots of cafes and bars to check out.

Yala
After breakfast, you'll depart at 10:00 AM for Yala, which is about 3 hours away. Along the way, there's a stop at Ravana Waterfall. In the afternoon, you'll head out on a jeep safari through Yala National Park to look for wildlife. This park is Sri Lanka's most popular for safaris, and you have good chances of spotting leopards, Asian elephants, sambar deer, crocodiles, buffalo, and possibly sloth bears, plus lots of bird species.

Bentota
After breakfast at 9:00 AM, you'll depart at 10:00 AM for Bentota, which is about 3 hours and 30 minutes away. The drive includes stops at Dalawella Beach to see the famous Instagram swing that hangs from a palm tree overlooking the beach, and at Galle Fort, a nicely preserved UNESCO-listed Dutch fortress from the 17th century. You'll arrive in Bentota with time to relax and settle into your overnight stay.

Bentota
You'll spend the day in Bentota, a popular resort town on Sri Lanka's southwestern coast. Visit a turtle hatchery to learn about sea turtle conservation, or take a boat safari through Madu River's mangrove forests and islands to see hundreds of plant and animal species. There's also a refreshing fish foot massage available. The rest of the day is yours to relax on the hotel beach.

Colombo - Airport
After breakfast, you'll depart for Colombo, which is about 1.5 hours away. In the afternoon, you'll check out Colombo's highlights like the Gangarama Temple, Seema Marakaya, Lotus Tower, Municipal Council, and Galle Face Green. If you want to do some last-minute shopping, there are reputed shopping malls like Odel, Liberty Plaza, Majestic City, and One Galle Face. Your driver will get you to the international airport in time for your departure flight.
