You'll start with a guided school tour through African Travellers and Services. The morning takes you to local primary and secondary schools where you'll meet students and teachers, sit in on an actual teaching session, and chat with the school director during a Q&A. If you're interested, there's the option to visit a university or spend time volunteering to teach English afterward. It's a hands-on way to see how education works in the community firsthand.

Kigali City Tour
Your day in Kigali balances history with everyday city life. Start early at Mt. Kigali to get those sweeping views across the city, then you'll visit the Genocide Memorial and Camp Kigali Memorial for deeper context. From there, head to the Richard Kandt House before wandering through Nyabugogo market. Later, stop by a local milk bar for a real taste of daily life, check out the Rwanda Arts Museum, and walk around the city with a Rwandan guide who'll fill you in on what you're seeing. By the end, you'll have a sense of both the city's weight and its energy.

Cultural Village Exploration
You're spending the day living village life alongside locals, not just passing through. Participate in village tours that include traditional dance and singing performances, and watch or try your hand at pottery making. You'll learn about hunting and gathering practices and get insight into pygmy lifestyle traditions. Throughout the day, you'll talk with community members and local leaders, help put together lunch using local cooking techniques, and see how pastoralists live in the surrounding rural areas. It's cultural immersion that goes beyond observation.
