Accra
When you arrive in Accra, a private vehicle will pick you up and take you to your hotel. Once you've settled in and unpacked, there's a welcome dinner later in the evening with live music. It's a good way to start things off and meet people if you're traveling with a group.

Accra
You'll have the day to walk around Accra on your own terms, checking out historical sites and the city's nightlife scene. Later in the evening, you get VIP access to the opening ceremony of Afro Futurefest, which celebrates black excellence with performances from local and international artists, plus art and fashion installations. It's a big cultural event.

Accra
This morning includes stops at the W.E.B. Du Bois Museum and Flagstaff House, which is the President's official residence. After that, you'll have time for shopping at local markets. You'll head back to the hotel for a break, then spend the evening at Afrochella festival again for more performances and cultural activities.

Accra to Cape Coast
You're driving to Cape Coast Castle, a structure built by the Portuguese back in 1555 and later reinforced by the Swedes. After exploring the castle, there's a trip to a nearby village where local elders will give your group African names as part of a traditional naming ceremony. Later you'll visit the Assin Manso slave river, an important historical location. The day involves significant and reflective cultural experiences.

Cape Coast to Elmina
After breakfast, head to Elmina to tour Elmina Castle, one of the oldest European structures in sub-Saharan Africa. From there, you'll see Fort San Jago, originally a Portuguese church that the Dutch later converted into a fort. Then check out the Posuban shrines, which have symbolic designs tied to Fante culture. The day ends with a look at the fishing harbor and local community to understand how people work and live there.

Elmina to Accra
At Kakum National Park, you'll walk across a canopy walkway suspended 40 meters above the rainforest floor, crossing five bridges. A guide talks through the different plants and their cultural and medicinal uses. You might spot Kobs, baboons, and monkeys while you're up there. After that, the drive back to Accra includes a stop at West Hills Mall for shopping before heading to your hotel for New Year's celebrations later.

Accra to Shai Hills
The morning is relaxed, then you'll drive to Shai Hills Resource Reserve and arrive around midday. A forest guide takes you on about a two hour hike to the ancestral caves of the Shai people. Along the way you'll see Kobs, olive baboons, monkeys, and different bird species. It's a good mix of history and nature.

Accra
This is a lighter day before you leave. You can do some final shopping if there's anything you missed, then head to the airport for your flight. It's time to reflect on what you saw and experienced throughout your time in Ghana.
