- SShivani· September 7th, 2025The 13-day Japan Intro trip was an incredible experience that gave the perfect balance of culture, adventure, and fun. Lachie, our tour guide had in-depth knowledge about Japan, was really friendly, and always made sure everyone was having a good time. The trip was amazing and a great way to explore Japan in 2 weeks.Show moreTrip date: August 2025

- Claire· July 6th, 2025This is an action-packed tour. Every day was an adventure and there was a good balance between the sensory overload of Tokyo and Osaka and the zen tranquility of Kayosan and Nagano. Our group leader, Amelia, guided us through subways, shinkansen , cable cars and buses. She was extraordinarily kind and encouraging especially for solo travellers. The activities were varied and enriched each location. We met snow monkeys, relaxed in onsens, participated in a Buddhist fire ceremony, made sushi and wielded samurai swords. I would recommend this trip for active people ( there's a lot of walking) who are open to new experiences and ready to fall in love with Japan.Show moreTrip date: July 2025
- SSaffron· June 29th, 2025I booked this trip for my 26th and honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. From the moment I signed up, I was buzzing and our group leader Dan made it even better. He was helping us out even before we landed in Japan! Proper organised, chilled, and full of good vibes, Dan kept everything running smooth and stress-free, while still making it loads of fun. He even went the extra mile to help me plan my extra days so I could squeeze every bit out of my time there. The hostels were super clean and cosy, and yeah, rooms are small, but that’s Japan and I loved it. Every place we visited was brilliant, but if I had to pick favourites, Nagano and Koyasan definitely stole my heart. Koyasan was full of culture – we stayed in a Buddhist temple, did meditation, saw fire ceremonies, just unreal. Nagano was pure peace, with beautiful scenery and those amazing 9 onsens! Dan really went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best time. We were lucky enough to catch all the good stuff – Mount Fuji, the snow monkeys, even dodged the worst of the weather and crowds thanks to Dan’s planning. And he’s top notch with the camera too, some of the best pics I’ve got are thanks to him. I’ve already put a deposit down for another trip! Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better birthday. Massive thanks to Dan for making it so special,– you’re a diamond mate!Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- AAnonymous· June 28th, 2025Dan went above and beyond from the start to exceed any expectations - not only in making everyone feel comfortable, but with any support before, during, and after. The trip itself was exceptionally designed to balance both the organised chaos of the mega city, to the relaxing countrysides - with activities included throughout. Stays within both Negano and Koyasan were particularly special, providing an authentically traditional experience. There is no fault with the Japan tour from Intro, and it has far exceeded prior experiences with other tour providers.Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- Elspeth· June 27th, 2025I cannot recommend the 13 day tour of Japan enough. It was a well put together, busy, itinerary containing everything from hectic city outings to more relaxed days in the Japanese countryside. This was coupled with numerous activities, such as a walking tour of Tokyos Senso-ji temple and Meji shrines alingside a Samurai experience held within an 200-plus-year-old building. The trips group leader, Dan, was exceptional in every way possible from providing interesting facts and tidbits of knowledge surrounding the locations we visited all the way down to organising our transport across the country-- providing a smooth and comfortable experience.Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- AMAbbie· June 27th, 2025I’ve just finished the Japan 13 day adventure tour with group leader Dan and didn’t really know what to expect never having done a group tour before but it’s been amazing. Dan helped with everything from getting to Japan, to mailing suitcases for me, to onward travel afterwards! As it’s so difficult to navigate the transport system around Japan it was the thing that I was most nervous about but he helped me book everything and showed me every single route I could take in order to suit me best! I showed up not really knowing what to expect but the itinerary covers everything you need to see in Japan and is so well ran with activities and leaders that go above and beyond to help and also the option is there to go and do a different activity of your choice if you like, which my leader was so helpful in booking and organising too! Overall couldn’t recommend enough and will definitely be doing another tour!Show moreTrip date: May 2025

- Oğulcan· June 20th, 2025I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Before joining the 13-day Japan tour led by Meg, I had dozens of tabs open comparing different travel agencies. I was overwhelmed. After a lot of research—and even a nod from AI—I chose Intro Travel. It turned out to be a great decision. The trip was fantastic, and I’m already considering traveling with them again.Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- Stuart· June 18th, 2025This tour was an absolute delight, from start to finish. All the activities were super enjoyable and interesting. Special shout out to our tour leader Meg she was the best! She was fun and professional and really made the whole experience so much better. Would 100% recommend.Show moreTrip date: June 2025

Traveler•Written August 2025I'm afraid i don't fit that bracket - thanks anyway

The majority of people on our tours are aged 18 to 40, but we regularly have people in their 40's and 50's travel with us and have an incredible time! As long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy bonding with people of all backgrounds, you'll fit in perfectly!

Asked on August 1st, 2025Does this tour have a guaranteed departure? Are exceptions made for the 55 age limit? I am 74 and an experienced traveler.
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written August 2025
Unfortunately, the maximum age limit we have on our Japan tours is 55, therefore we are unable to accept any bookings over this age.

Asked on July 24th, 2025Would the rooms be shared? Also would have any recommendation on when to depart to arrive to japan?
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written July 2025
Regarding the accommodation, we use mainly quad share rooms on this tour and one twin-share room. When you are in a twin share room, we will always room you with another male traveller. In quad-share rooms, genders are mixed. Sharing is all part of the traditional cultural experience in Japan and you'll be staying in some awesome places, including a traditional ryokan and a buddhist monastery! When it comes to your flights, you can arrive anytime of Day 1 of the tour. We recommend arriving in the morning or the afternoon so that you'll make it in time for the Welcome Dinner at 7pm on Day 1.

Asked on July 17th, 2025Are you available for Japan adventure on Saturday 13 September, 2025 for 2 travelers?
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written July 2025
We have 2 spaces available for the Japan Adventure tour in September. Japan is a fascinating destination with futuristic cities and ancient samurai culture. The tour is popular and groups fill up quickly, so I recommend booking soon.

Asked on July 12th, 2025Are there itineraries with nicer hotels instead of shared hostels?
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written July 2025
All accommodations on this trip are of a decent standard and comfortable. We can look into private rooms if customers are not comfortable with shared rooms.

Fiona
Traveler•Written July 2025What is the process for booking if you don't get enough people for the tour?
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written July 2025
It is very uncommon for us to cancel start dates. If we do cancel, we give at least 30 days notice and help find an alternative start date or tour.
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written July 2025
We usually run tours with a minimum of 4 people. For this Japan tour, with 6 people, you can be confident it will go ahead.

Traveler•Written July 2025Covers it enough for you? As it is mandatory from your Side, I just want to make sure it is ok
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written July 2025
Yes, this policy is absolutely fine to use. Your Group Leader will just need to see a copy of it when you're in Japan. They'll be looking for the following details: Your name. The dates you're insured from. Confirmation that you're covered for the countries you'll be travelling in.

Asked on June 26th, 2025We want separate bedrooms but don't mind sharing everything else.
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written June 2025
We're not able to take any bookings for private rooms during peak season in Japan. We can add a note to your bookings to request different rooms. The majority of nights on this tour are spent in quad-share rooms, where you'll share with 3 other Group Members. For the final accommodation, you'll be in a twin-share room matched with another traveller of the same gender and similar age.
- C
Caroline
Asked on June 17th, 2025What is a quad share hostel?
- INTRO TravelOperator•Written June 2025
Quad-share simply means you'll be sharing with 3 other people in the accommodation. In the hostels, this will be multi-share rooms with bunk beds. In the traditional ryokan in Nagano and the Buddhist temple in Koyasan you'll be getting the full cultural experience with mattresses on the floor. Finally, in Kyoto, you'll be sharing with one other group member only in a twin-share room.
